The South Bund Shanghai
I can’t believe that a couple of years ago no one really hung out on the south bund. But now almost every day of the week there are people stroking along. kids riding their skateboards and couples having a picnic of the grass.
Shanghai truly regenerated this former dock land and helped create a beautiful area for everyone to enjoy. It great watching the ships slowly float by while watching elderly couple taking picture with the trees.
I would recommend dedicating half a day exploring this part of bund. Definitely away from the touristy part and definitely a local spot. There are some good Messina close by and a couple of small restaurants
All in all, a must see if you are living in Shanghai and a great place to explore.

This new exhibition in Shanghai is a must-see!
Shanghai is full of free exhibitions, and this weekend I took my child to the Power Station of Art to see Yin Xiuzhen's "Sky Patch" exhibition. It was amazing! The best part is that it's free and doesn't require a reservation. Here's a guide to the exhibition!
❤ Highlights: "Sky Patch" is the name of the exhibition and the first installation. The exhibition explores the universe and the world, as well as the most delicate and private parts of human perception.
👉 The most eye-catching exhibit - "Sky Patch": As you enter the exhibition hall, the installation "Sky Patch" will catch your eye with its powerful visual impact. The installation consists of three works: "Flying Machine," "Sky Patch," and "Sky Patch." It is made up of a hand-held tractor, a Shanghai Santana car, and a Boeing 747 airplane made of aluminum and everyday items. It's very impressive and makes for great photos.
👉 "Walking": The artist continues the work "Walking" from 2018, collecting 100 pairs of shoes with stories from Shanghai audiences. Each pair of shoes is connected to a long "leg" made of fabric.
👉 There are many other exhibits inside, each worth savoring and watching carefully.
🕙 Exhibition time: November 9, 2024 to February 16, 2025
📍 Address: 1F, Power Station of Art (No. 678 Miaojiang Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai)

Her works are experimental and diverse, using the experiences, memories, and traces of different people as one of the elements of her creations. This exhibition involves installations, performances, ceramics, videos, paintings, sculptures, and other fields. It leads the audience to constantly explore the charm and possibilities of the "unknown."

A must-see exhibition in Shanghai, Chanel's Fashion Manifesto.
Exhibition name: Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto
Time: 2024/7/12-11/24
Location: Power Station of Art
Ticket price: CNY 100
This exhibition is the first retrospective of designer Gabrielle Chanel's work in China. The exhibition features many of Chanel's exquisite dresses, gowns, jewelry, and more. It's well worth a visit, but the downside is that the exhibition hall is too dark, and it's a bit difficult to read the text introductions. This exhibition is on the second floor, and you can visit the free exhibition on the first floor as well.

Power Station Turned Into Art Museum in Shanghai
Power Station of Art opened in 2012 in the building of a former coal power plant. Moreover, they didn't change much in this power plant, they just took out what they could, left what they couldn't, painted it and brought in artistic creations.
Admission to the museum is free, except for some exhibitions, which are constantly changing. A very cool museum - located in such a classic area of the creative cluster. there is a really cool bookstore and cafe inside#Powerstationofart

Travel | Power Station of Art, Shanghai
Museum, glimpse.
The South City Power Plant in 1985, the Expo Pavilion in 2010, and now the Power Station of Art in Shanghai.
The renovation design is an "original work" with a Tongji background. The frame is retained, the structure is exposed, and old objects such as orange-red cranes and fire ladders are all inherited properly. The cast-in-place clear water concrete corresponds to the original concrete wall, which is rough and unruly, yet subtle and restrained. It is a fusion of industrial relics and artistic creativity.
Li Ao once wrote about Hu Yinmeng: "Beautiful and wandering, charming and confused, sentimental and sexy, incomprehensible and unreasonable." The space has a unique aura, no wonder it is favored by architects and exhibitions, including Jean Nouvel, Renzo Piano, Toyo Ito, Zhang Yonghe, and Sosuke Fujimoto.
One day, floating light.

Shanghai Exhibition: The Fantastical 'Impermanence' by Brazilian Designers
Red Chair, Spring Roll Chair, Fragment Chandelier, Panda Pile,
LV Collaboration Sofa Chair...
When it comes to Brazil's Campana Design Studio,
this name might be unfamiliar to many,
but you have definitely seen their designs.
The Power Station of Art in Shanghai is currently hosting
'Impermanence: 40 Years of Design by Campana Studio.'
The Campana brothers hail from Brazil,
and their designs feature the unique bright colors of this country,
while also being full of fun and imagination.
The elder brother's dream was to 'become a native,'
while the younger brother wanted to be an 'astronaut.'
After the younger brother passed away due to illness, this 40th-anniversary exhibition was held,
named 'Impermanence,'
which perhaps not only laments the impermanence of life,
but also represents the ever-changing world,
and this is precisely why life is so wonderful.
The designs of Campana Studio
frequently use extremely common materials in life—
jute rope, palm fiber brushes, foam plastic, glass scraps...
Through the designers' whimsical ideas,
they become furniture and installation art.
When we accept that 'eternity is an illusion,'
then 'impermanence' means acting in the present.
After seeing this exhibition, you will have deeper reflections on nature, life, family, fantasy, and more.

Exhibition Dates: July 12, 2024 - November 24, 2024

Exhibition Introduction: This exhibition is the first retrospective of fashion designer Gabrielle Chanel's works in China, and the final stop of the global tour in Shanghai.
The exhibition is organized chronologically and thematically, consisting of two main chapters that showcase Chanel's creations from the 1910s-1930s and her works after returning to the fashion world from 1954-1971.
The exhibition features over 200 meticulously curated pieces, most of which are garments. In addition to clothing, there are also Chanel's beauty products, perfumes, accessories, and jewelry. The viewing experience is akin to a "CHANEL" documentary, introducing the ambitious, career-focused, elegant, and beautiful Gabrielle Chanel.
Foggy Words: Sitting on a sofa resembling the third floor of 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, Fog looks at some photos of Gabrielle Chanel and realizes that women's love for luxury goods is actually a pursuit of elegance and leisure.

A bit creepy
Exhibition Name: Distractions - Annette Messager Solo Exhibition
Exhibition Venue: Power Station of Art, Shanghai (200 Huayuangang Road)
Public Transport: Metro Line 4, 8 "South Xizang Road" Station, Binjiang Line 1
Exhibition Dates: July 5, 2024 to August 4, 2024
Exhibition Ticket: 60 RMB
Exhibition Introduction: Showcasing 70 works of different media including painting, photography, sculpture, and installation by the French national treasure female artist Annette Messager.
Annette Messager places "life" before "art" and "history", and those seemingly valuable things are gently dissolved by her like a game, turning into murmuring street tunes, children's pranks, or a grimace. Messager is a mystic, a primitivist, a dream maker and disruptor. Humor and cruelty, innocence and evil, life and death, love and hate, desire and despair, evidence and fiction, disguise and cowardice, lies and truth... These oppositions become ambiguous and obscure in the resonance of sound, in primitive painting, photography, and handicrafts, no longer certain, and thus the answers disappear. Her works do not need explanation, they are universal, and also an anti-art act.
Foggy Words: Missed the installation inside the chimney, the staff said this side is a sound installation not worth visiting. The exhibition is a bit creepy, not suitable for young children.

Reinterpreting the combination of red and black in the 'Impermanence' exhibition
Wandering through the 'Impermanence' exhibition, we continue to weave the blocks of red and black. It feels like being in a carnival of colors, where the interlacing of red and black makes one feel as if they are traveling through time and space, stepping into another world. Red is the flame of life, a symbol of passion; black is the abyss of mystery, an exploration of the unknown.
In this 'Impermanence' exhibition, the collision of red and black is like the impermanence of drama, interpreting the joys and sorrows of life. From the free combination of red and black, every part tells the story of 'Impermanence'. Sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, sometimes thought-provoking, and sometimes laugh-inducing. In the interlacing of red and black, we seem to see the myriad forms of life and feel the impermanence of living.
The 'Impermanence' exhibition is originally a visual feast and a spiritual baptism of forty years of retrospection. Our reweaving of red and black within it makes us feel even more the impermanence and variability of life. Through the exhibition, we re-examine the meaning and value of life, understanding that the impermanence and diversity of life are indispensable parts of our journey. No matter where we go or what we encounter, we should face and accept everything with an open mind. Only in this way can we truly experience the charm and joy of life.

Shanghai's most worthwhile new exhibition is a stunning journey through Paris a century ago
🧚♀️ Shanghai has recently gathered a lot of new exhibitions, and the one I think is the most worth visiting is the exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 'Modern Paris 1914-1945'. It takes you back to the golden age of Paris a hundred years ago, and it's super impressive!
.
💯 Moreover, in this museum, you can see 3 exhibitions at once, which is definitely a great place to go on the weekend!
.
🌈 The entire exhibition retrospectively explores the emergence and flourishing of modernity in Paris during the last century's golden age from a rich and interwoven perspective, presenting more than three hundred exhibits, including architectural models, manuscripts, paintings, jewelry, photography, films, clothing, and a digital space created by DS+R architectural firm.
.
📽️ From intimate interior spaces to the grand scale of urban planning, from jewelry to clothing and then to film images, the exhibition presents what can be described as a thirty-year history of creative passion for the city of Paris.
.
‼️ According to the introduction, this exhibition has been in planning for seven years, and the entire preparation time took three years!
.
♨️ Key points:
🎞️ There is a considerable number of projection screens arranged in a matrix, offering an immersive experience to see historical footage of people visiting, constructing, and climbing the Eiffel Tower, their colorful nightlife, and even stage recordings of singers and dancers of that time, definitely a flowing Parisian feast full of imagination and atmosphere.
.
🚗 Inside the exhibition hall, there is a 1939 Citroën car that was transported from France. This well-preserved relic is the world's first front-wheel-drive car, which can still be driven today, and it is the most expensive exhibit in terms of transportation costs.
✈️ The airplane model that appears overhead is one that the author of 'The Little Prince' personally piloted.
.
🪑 In the modern interior design exhibition series, you can see the original furniture of that time.
🏠 A house has been reconstructed in the exhibition hall. Every piece of wood and steel compass support was transported from abroad and then assembled on-site in the exhibition hall, allowing visitors to perceive the 'demountable houses' of that time.
👗 The display of the new fashion trends for women at the beginning of the last century by many luxury brands in Paris.
.
💕 Exhibition name: Modern Paris 1914-1945

The art bookstore hidden in the museum
The Dui Dui Dui bookstore is located in the contemporary art museum, designed by French female designer Martali Cassette. It mainly sells contemporary art, architecture, design and other art books, as well as all derivative products and cultural and creative products of PSA.

You can sit in the indoor planting corner to enjoy a moment of tranquility, savoring the exhibition you just watched; you can drink coffee with everyone outdoors, and you can discuss the artistic and intellectual aspects of the exhibition...; You can even sit on the door frame to drink and watch the scenery at will.
Located in the belly of the Art Power Plant, the Dui Dui Dui bookstore also extends the tentacles of the art museum to the Huangpu River Walkway. According to the changes in the main exhibition period, there will be corresponding posters along the wall.

Path of Shadows
The ongoing exhibition 'Path of Shadows' at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art (PSA) is the winner of the second season of the 'New Cultural Producer' project co-sponsored by the Chanel Cultural Foundation. The shadow space in ten architectural cases from southern China moves with the shadow, reflecting the mobility of architecture.
The instability and ambiguity formed by the movement of shadows pry open the boundaries of architecture, which is exactly where the daily activity of architectural space lies, echoing the second season theme of 'New Cultural Producer' 'Active Architecture', bringing a long-term thinking and visible future to the audience.

I've been collecting this exhibition for a long time, but I've been delayed by other things. This time, I finally went to check it out during the long holiday before the exhibition ended, and I felt it was worth the trip.
The exhibition is co-hosted by the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art and the Chanel Culture Fund, with the theme of 'Active Architecture', aiming to inspire new concepts and practices in the field of contemporary Chinese architecture.
The big white umbrellas on site have a minimalist artistic beauty, all the buildings are everyday scenes under the southern shadows, and there are mahjong, chess, bamboo chairs under the umbrellas, which are very much like the real life scenes of ordinary southern collections.
Although all the exhibited architectural models cannot be touched, the lounge chairs can be sat on, which is very comfortable. Once you lie down, you don't want to move. You can also bring your friends to play mahjong, it's really playable haha.
Friends who like architecture and minimalist design can go and see, the exhibition ends on 10/8.

Hello, everyone, I am Jack's travel story, today I am here to share with you the Shanghai Modern Paris Art Exhibition.
❤️About this exhibition:
The entire exhibition retraces the birth and prosperity of modernity in Paris during the golden age of the last century with a richly interwoven perspective, presenting more than 300 exhibits, including architectural models, manuscripts, paintings, jewelry, photography, films, clothing, and digital spaces created by DS+R architectural firm.
The exhibition was jointly completed by renowned architectural historian Jean Louis Cohen, architect Pascal Morley, and fashion historian Catherine Ormo.
📷Photo recommendation:
✅Image installation: It's right here on the first floor of this exhibition, it's a historical image record through projection lighting effects and multi-screen, letting everyone feel the city feast of Paris.
✅Citroen car🚗: This is a 1939 Citroen car, transported from France.
✅Airplane✈️model: You can see it above your head, it feels quite interesting.
✅Furniture🪑: In the modern interior design exhibition room, the dining table and four chairs were made in 1923, and the tea cover pottery on the table was made in 1920.
✅Model hairstyle display: Another attraction of the entire exhibition is here. Various models' fashionable hairstyles are made into 1:1 real wax heads, rotating 360 degrees in a cylindrical glass cabinet, giving people a sense of "immersion".

Exhibition Date: July 15, 2023 to October 8, 2023

Exhibition Recommendation: 'The Way of Shadow' is curated by architect Chen Donghua, focusing on the south of China, telling the story of the 'vitality' of architecture based on local wisdom, and questioning Pevsner's classification of 'building' and 'architecture'.
At the exhibition site, a southern living scene is created. The exhibition proposes that 'shadow' is a return to daily use and bodily sensation, a microcosm of the daily umbrella use in the south, and a reflection of the 'vitality' of architecture.
Misty Wind Words: The exhibition site feels like returning to the childhood scene of enjoying the cool breeze, setting up a platform (table) with planks, taking out bamboo pole chairs (bamboo chairs), each person holding a cattail fan to play chess, play cards, watch TV, listen to the radio, and chat. On the days when Xiao Huang is working, coming to the exhibition site to hatch air conditioning and enjoy the cool breeze is also a good choice.

Shanghai Exhibition | Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art
There are two recent exhibitions, one is charged, the other is free.
🔘First, let's talk about the charged one——'Modern Paris'
It talks about the architecture, film, design, and fashion in Paris between 1914 and 1945, during the two World Wars. As a non-visual design industry practitioner, I mainly watch for fun.
The exhibits are quite rich, and the layout planning is good, with clear logic.
The most impressive part is the architecture and interior design. These houses and interior designs from the 1930s do not seem outdated even after more than 90 years, and are still fashionable.
🔘Then let's talk about the free one——'The Way of Shadow'
It talks about the architecture and daily life in the south. There are many architectural models on site. By the way, you can see the river view and Nanpu Bridge from this floor.
🔘First floor cultural and creative bookstore
There is a cultural and creative bookstore called dododo on the first floor, which has cultural and creative products and art books, and a cafe. What's special is that the books are arranged by color, which is very artistic.

Even if you have read the introduction, if you are not interested in exploring this theme, you basically look at it in a fog, some of which can understand the author's intention, most of them just look at it, think about it, and then next.
My mentality, art is a subjective feeling, understand if you can understand, if you can't understand, experience it and watch the excitement, it's pretty good.
The order of the exhibition is from the first floor to the third floor and then to the second floor. This time the conspicuous chimney opened its interior and became the exhibition line.
