Even though this may seem crazy, that’s exactly what you can do at Poble Español! A recreation of Spain’s various architecture styles in one village. You can find Poble Español in the side of the Montjuic Mountain in the city of Barcelona. And despite it being located in such a tourist-ridden city, the place still offers a great deal of quiet and calm moments to relax while enjoying some of Spain historical sites. #valentinescape

Keep reading Nestled on the side of the mountain of Montjuic ⛰ a few minutes walk from 𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘢, you can find this hidden gem that will take you on a trip to all the corners of 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻🇪🇸 This is 𝗣𝗢𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗬𝗢𝗟 But, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙋𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙡? Well poble, in Catalan, or pueblo in Spanish, means town, so literally the name 𝘗𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯. And this is exactly what it is. It’s a project that was promoted in 1929 by the architect 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽 𝗣𝘂𝗶𝗴 𝗶 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗵, on occasion of the 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘢 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, celebrated that year. And it consists of a village with real-scale buildings that recreate the architecture style of the different regions in 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻🇪🇸 In just a few minutes of walk you will be wandering in the streets of 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗯𝗮 or 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲, and a few more meters you suddenly are surrounded by buildings typical from the northern regions of 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻. Turn right in the next corner and you are in the middle of 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗱 and go a bit further to the left to find yourself in a little square in the style of the mountainous towns of the 𝗣𝘆𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 🏔 All this, and a lot more, without leaving 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗮. Great idea for weekend plans, we visited Poble espanyol for its croissant festival and a week later at the food festival to have some calcots. 💰Average Price per Person: €30 for calcots 📍Address: Poble Espanyol at montjuic Can get busy so recommend to plan ahead and leave time for queueing or be prepared to come earlier/later to avoid the mass crowds. ✈️ Flight into Josep Tarradellas Airport - we arrived mid afternoon from the UK. After a short bus to the terminal, we had around a 30 minute wait to clear immigration 👮♂️. However our luggage was ready to collect as soon as we cleared immigration. Transfer to the city centre (Aerobus 🚐) We decided to travel using the Aerobus. The stop was right outside the terminal and was easy to find. The buses are really frequent (every 10 minutes or so) and there is plenty os seats and space for luggage. We bought our tickets online in advance and showed the QR code to the driver on a mobile phone. You can also pay using cash. What to do? We spent 5 nights in Barcelona and managed to make a good use of our time getting a mix of a city break, beach and good food & wine. 1. Park Guell - this was a really good day out and we spent a couple of hours walking around taking in the scenery. Some of the phots are in this post. You also get god views across the city. 2. Palau de la musica catalana - this is basically a concert hall with nice architecture. It didnt really live up to expectations and we felt it was a waste of money. 3. Balloon museum - I know it doesnt sound like a typical thing to do in Barcelona. But it was such great fun. There are lots of different balloon exhibits including a giant ball pit which was great fun with the kids (teenagers loved it). 4. Poble Espanyol - this was a bit different. There are different streets and zones to the attraction that take you through different regions of Spain. We enjoyed it and the place is full of little shops where you can pick up interesting things. Well worth a visit. Beach visit 🏖️ If you dont like really busy beaches then dont go to the main beach in Barcelona. It is not a great beach anyway and it is overcrowded. I also spoke to a couple of tourists who had their bags stolen on the beach. Instead we went to Sitges. We got a train from Barcelona and it took about 40 minutes to get to Sitges. It is a really nice coastal town and a lot less busy than Barcelona. There are several beaches and none were overcrowded. You are able to hire sun beds and loungers and you can even pay on a card. Places to eat and drink This is a tough one because everyone has different tastes. There are so many restaurants and bars selling tapas that it is really easy to find somewhere decent to eat. I will however call out my favourite restaurant and favourite bar. 🍽️ - El Mercat - we had amazing food in here. Lots of choice on the menu. And it is so reasonably priced too. 🥃- La Whiskeria - this is a whiskey drinkers dream. So many choices on offer. Make some time talking to the staff - they will give you a tour of the place and explain about all the different whiskeys that they have.

It was like a small town concept park for the elderly, but the free art museum and the short video of Spanish history were really great. There are also small restaurants and cafes inside, so it's a good place to take a break. There are also many shops, but I also got a pretty bracelet from an old store that I couldn't find anywhere else.

This time, I will introduce "Mura España" in Barcelona, ​​Spain. You might be thinking "Why go all the way to Spain to see a village like that?", but when you actually go there, you can enjoy Spain in a short time, with distinctive buildings from all over Spain reproduced and authentic flamenco performances. There are also buildings from the famous white villages in the south. There are also small castles, churches, art museums, and more, and from the castle on the hill you can see the whole city of Barcelona. There were a lot of cats, so we took a commemorative photo♪ We made a reservation in advance for the flamenco in Japan. For meals, you can choose to have just drinks, tapas dishes, or a course meal, but we went for tapas. Tapas are small dishes that you can easily pick up. (Even though they are small dishes, the portions are so large that we couldn't finish them all.) Drinks were also included, so we had sangria. The sangria was given to me in a large bottle, so I couldn't finish it all (^^; The flamenco was much more impressive than I expected, and the movements of the old ladies were very sharp and cool.
