In a 2022 publication. Costa Rica’s Playa Conchal was voted as the most beautiful beach in the world, and when visiting here it’s not hard to see why. Despite its appearance, the beach is not made out of sand but from millions of tiny crushed shells. The Pacific Ocean itself is delightful warm and unlike many other places along this stretch of coastline is relatively calm allowing for a perfect swimming opportunity. One final advantage is the sheer expanse of the beach meaning that even on the busiest of days you should easily be able to find a quiet spot to spend hours relaxing in the warm sunshine.

#beachlife Playa Conchal situated on the Pacific coast is one of the few beaches in Costa Rica with fairly light sand and spectacular sunsets. The calm stretch of beach is not very busy and touristy. Although you may find quite a few local vendors selling crafts and other products up and down the beach which can get a bit annoying at times, at least when I visited in April. Definitely get a local fisherman to take you out snorkelling and catch some fresh fish which you can get a vendor to grill for you directly on the beach.
