Historic buildings

Located on the Duanzhou ancient city wall to the west of Renmin Middle Road, Duanzhou District, it was built in the third year of Zhenghe in the Northern Song Dynasty (1118 AD). It is named because the building stands at the top of the western section of the city wall and is often surrounded by clouds. The current Piyun Tower was rebuilt in 1989, with a height of 19.3 meters. Its shape is modeled after the Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi, the Yellow Crane Tower in Hubei and the Feiyun Tower in Shanxi. The internal structure is a reinforced concrete imitation wood structure. It is a three-storey building with a Xieshan-style cross ridge on the roof, covering an area of 300 square meters. From the top of the building, you can see the scenery inside and outside the city. There are two groups of wax statues on display in the building. The top floor exhibits pictures and paintings reflecting the history of the building.
