One of Yangzhou’s coolest streets
Certain parts of Yangzhou can have a feeling of a less developed and more honest version of Suzhou.
Pishi street is a great example of this less gentrified version of Suzhou. The street is buzzing with bookshops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Most of which are very recent additions and you can see lots of building as more establishments join the street.
There are some fantastic book shops where you can buy interesting Chinese books and buy cute souvenirs of the street. There are also many restaurants which are reasonably priced and there is not a chain in sight.
The street itself is busy as cars and e-bikes are still allowed to drive down the street. Take care when walking and taking photos of cute shop fronts.
The street itself takes around an hour to explore properly on both sides.
Pishi street translates to leather market street indicating what the street once was. There are lots of interesting streets and alleys like this to explore in Yangzhou. Yangzhou has lots of history and with the addition of the new fast train line direct to Shanghai I can’t help feeling Yangzhou will look very different in 20 year’s time as tourism continues to develop.

May in Yangzhou is so hot~
Weekend trips, 48 hours in Yangzhou, all about doing whatever you want~ Unfortunately, under the high temperature of 30 degrees, Slender West Lake, Ge Garden, and the museum still have quite a few visitors. The Grand Canal Museum is highly recommended, with various 5D videos,
The lacquer fans are very beautiful, and you can buy them on Pishi Street without queuing, don't miss out as you pass by~

Yangzhou Travelogue: A Leisurely Day Away from the Crowds
📍Yangzhou, this poetic small town in the misty rain of the Jiangnan region, can intoxicate you in just one day. Follow me and unlock the guide to a day's tour of Yangzhou!
🌙The Gentle Night
Upon arriving in Yangzhou, first check into a guesthouse on Dongguan Street. After the rain, Dongguan Street loses the hustle and bustle of the daytime, gaining more tranquility and gentleness. Strolling on the ancient street, try a bite of the warm plum blossom cake, warming both the stomach and the heart.🍡
🌅The Cozy Morning
In the early morning, the sunlight filters through the clouds, casting its light on every corner of Ge Garden. Avoid the crowds and feel this unique tranquility and coziness. Walking through the garden, it's as if you travel through time, back to that distant era.🏞️
🍽️Breakfast Time
After visiting Ge Garden, why not try Yangzhou's breakfast? Although the taste is average, the leisure and comfort it brings are irreplaceable.🍜
🎨Intangible Cultural Heritage Treasure Museum
Next, head to the Intangible Cultural Heritage Treasure Museum. Here, a variety of Yangzhou's intangible cultural treasures are gathered, with interesting exhibition settings, and it's super photogenic!📸
🌸The Tenderness of Slender West Lake
In the afternoon, visit Slender West Lake. The spring breeze caresses your face, and the willow catkins flutter, perfectly interpreting the tenderness of Jiangnan. Remember to enter from the South Gate and exit from the West Gate, not missing any classic scenic spots!🏞️
🛍️The Bustle of Pishi Street
The last stop is Pishi Street. This is a great place for food lovers, with Yangzhou yogurt and various snacks that you can't get enough of!🍡🍦
🌸Yangzhou, this poetic small town, can make you linger and forget to return in just one day. Looking forward to our next meeting, to continue exploring more beauty of this city!🌸

Yangzhou Travel Guide
I went to Yangzhou on a non-holiday last year, and here's a supplement to the guide, highly recommended.
1. Stay near Caoyi Street and Pishi Street, where several streets are connected together, which is very convenient. Moreover, Yangzhou's attractions are relatively concentrated and not too far away. Park your car at the hotel, and it's very convenient to travel by shared electric bikes. Don't drive, it's very congested.
2. The Yangzhou Grand Canal Museum is highly recommended. I've been to many museums and none can compare! It's quite large, so make an appointment in advance.
3. Slender West Lake is quite big and the scenery is also very good. He Garden and Ge Garden are also nice to stroll around and experience the cultural atmosphere. I've had morning tea at several places, and honestly, I think they're all pretty much the same.
Spending two days in Yangzhou with my wife and child, riding electric bikes through the city, was really pleasant and comfortable. Everywhere we went, there were quaint buildings and delightful scenery.

Fireworks in March descend upon Yangzhou
Yangzhou, once known as Guangling, may not have the reputation of 'above there is heaven, below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou,' but in ancient times, it was as renowned as Gusu and Lin'an among literati and scholars.
Although we can't experience the literary charm of ancient Yangzhou, the city today is also remarkably different from the past. With the arrival of the May Day holiday, five days is enough time to comfortably explore Yangzhou. Here are some famous attractions in Yangzhou worth visiting.
1⃣️ Slender West Lake
One of only two 5A-rated scenic spots in Yangzhou, the West Lake has its grandeur, and Slender West Lake has its unique beauty. The Twenty-Four Bridge is still there, with ripples on the water and the silent cold moon. It exudes the charm of Suzhou-style gardens, yet it has its own unique aesthetic. Student tickets are half price🎫💰~
2⃣️ China Grand Canal Museum
Larger than the Grand Canal Museum in Hangzhou, it has a unique historical significance. The grand architecture and the heart-stirring historical restoration. The 5D effects offer an immersive experience of the development of the Grand Canal. The food inside is also quite good, with no admission fee, but it's probably necessary to book about a week in advance.
3⃣️ Dongguan Street
This is a well-known historical and cultural street in Yangzhou, with a strong sense of history and not so commercialized, featuring elegant architecture and cobblestone alleys. There are many time-honored shops and a concentration of handicrafts. Worth a visit.
4⃣️ He Garden
Known as the finest garden of the late Qing Dynasty, it is one of the famous private gardens. Compared to the gardens in Suzhou, it features a blend of Chinese and Western architecture. It seems to be the filming location for 'Marrying the Wrong Bride,' and you can wear Hanfu to take photos here. The winding paths in the Suzhou gardens make for excellent photo opportunities📸.
5⃣️ Pishi Street
In the past, it was known as 'Leather Goods Street' and is very close to He Garden. It is filled with Yangzhou's local customs and snacks, and now it has become a must-visit spot in Yangzhou, with unique cultural and artistic shops and great photo opportunities.
6⃣️ Ge Garden
Famous since the Ming Dynasty! It is said that the garden contains over 60 different types of bamboo. The admission fee is not expensive, and it is also one of the must-visit spots.
7⃣️ Daming Temple
'In the Southern Dynasties, four hundred and eighty temples, how many towers in the misty rain,' a thousand-year-old temple, the architecture has the style of a royal garden. Inside the temple, there is the Qiling Pagoda, which can be seen from other scenic spots, and from the top, you can overlook the entire city of Yangzhou.
8⃣️ Siwang Pavilion
A must-visit spot in Yangzhou, from Siwang Pavilion you can look out over Slender West Lake, admire Cuiping Mountain, and overlook the major historical districts. The sudden appearance of an ancient pavilion with windows on all sides in the quaint old street also has a special feel, which is one of the reasons it has become a popular photo spot.

Sisters coming to Yangzhou for the May Day holiday must see | Guide
Sisters coming to Yangzhou for the holiday must save this!!!
Perfect pit avoidance! Valuable suggestions
1️⃣ About travel
The first thing you must, must do is rent an electric scooter🛵!! You can book it online in advance, and it's best to find one that you can ride straight off the high-speed train!! If any sisters need it, I have recommendations!
Because Yangzhou is small, the scenic spots are relatively concentrated, with distances all around two to three kilometers, so riding a bike is the best choice for touring Yangzhou. It's hard to find parking spots for the roadside scan-and-ride electric bikes (many are out of power.... Taxis are hard to hail and traffic jams are frustrating!
2️⃣ About accommodation
Yangzhou is small, and budget accommodations are generally around 200-300, but prices may rise a lot during holidays, so it's cheaper to book in advance
Staying in the city center is more convenient, like near Dongguan Street
Really poor students can choose to stay overnight at bathhouses, which are said to be crowded during holidays! You can also choose local residences, but girls need to be careful~
3️⃣ About food
Yangda yogurt
Roasted pig's trotters/Wangzi roasted cold noodles/Roasted sweet potato skin/(Caiyi Street has a lot of delicious food, you can go there at night when there are many people)
Ziqi Hotpot (This is a local Yangzhou hotpot, very popular, with long queues, the duck claw pot base hotpot is amazing!!)
Ganquan Road: Fan's fire-baked bread, Boss Pan's fried chicken
Guoqing Road: Jiangjiaqiao noodle shop, Jiaochang salty goods hotpot
4️⃣ About the sightseeing route
day1: Ge Garden-Slender West Lake-Caiyi Street, Dongguan Street
day2: Grand Canal-He Garden-Pishi Street (Strongly recommended, great place to visit!!)
CASSANDRA CURTIS
If you don't visit Yangzhou in March, you'll regret it, babies
"Attractions Guide" Xiaojie Street
At the end of the alley, you can check in at the "Siwang Pavilion" building, where the short alley encapsulates the ordinary life of the locals.
Dongguan Street
A very representative historical old street in Yangzhou, with lanterns hanging from the eaves of old buildings along the road, full of New Year's atmosphere, it is a great place for a city stroll. Ge Garden
I personally think it's more worth visiting than He Garden~ The exquisite garden and rockery are very typical of Chinese elegance. Pishi Street
There are many interesting creative shops, as well as a big "Yangzhou" sign, which is very suitable for taking photos.
Er Fen Ming Yue Lou
A free garden hidden in the alley, not very big and with few people, but still encapsulates the poetic and picturesque charm of the gardens in the south of the Yangtze River.
Grand Canal Museum
No ticket is required, but you need to make a reservation in advance.
"About Accommodation"
This time I came to Yangzhou to better experience the market life of this small town, so I deliberately stayed at the reconstructed Bingyuan Pavilion Cultural Resort Hotel on Dongguan Street~ In a century-old salt merchant's residence, through the understanding of the aesthetics of life, it has been upgraded and transformed, but you can feel a different kind of relaxation and tranquility. Sitting in the tea room in the garden landscape and chatting and tasting tea in the afternoon really feels like the right way to open a trip to Yangzhou!
AdventurousAbode
Yangzhou Pishi Street really amazed me!
Yangzhou Pishi Street really amazed me! I've been to many ancient towns and seen a lot of cultural and creative shops, but I think Yangzhou Pishi Street is one of the best. Especially the cultural and creative products in 'The Record of the Fleeting Life', like the Yangzhou Pineapple (borrowing from Marco Polo) and Yangzhou Skinny 🐯 (social who?), are really clever. The Biancheng Bookstore not only has creative designs but also ancient book restoration, which I haven't encountered since graduating from college. Hidden here, the craftsmen focus on restoring the old as it was, giving it new life, which is truly commendable.
If Yangzhou as a whole feels like the 1990s, reminiscent of the city we lived in during our youth, Pishi Street brings the vibe of the younger generation's lifestyle. Beyond the everyday hustle and bustle, they also demand a sense of beauty and style.
Yangzhou has chosen to embrace slowness and coexistence between the new and the old, making everyone who lives here or passes by feel at ease and happy.

Yangzhou | 3 Days 2 Nights Travel Guide: The Most Authentic Experience to Avoid Pitfalls|||
For a detailed graphic version of the Yangzhou travel guide, you can check out my previous videos.
📍Accommodation:
First choice is near Wenchang Pavilion, close to Dongguan Street, Ge Garden, and He Garden.
Economy hotels cost about five to six hundred during holidays.
However, if the hotel is next to Dongguan Street, it's recommended to take a taxi on the adjacent main road to avoid traffic jams.
🚗Transportation:
Mainly walking and taking taxis. Before going, I heard that the drivers' service attitude was not good, but in reality, all I met were fine, and I never encountered a situation where I couldn't get a taxi. However, taxi fares are more expensive than I thought, only slightly cheaper than Shanghai. When I went to play in the neighboring town of Zhenjiang, I found the taxi fares to be very cheap.
🍚Food:
Jiangjiaqiao:
Avoid this place, it's particularly bad in my opinion, with a strong taste of rapeseed oil overpowering the freshness of the meat, and the noodles are not chewy, but it's very cheap.
Xiao Zhun Shi:
Four dishes for over 200, lion's head meatballs and dry silk are mediocre, Yangzhou fried rice is dry and tasteless, crab tofu only has the taste of rapeseed oil.
Yechun:
Average, not bad but nothing surprising.
Fuyu Dessert:
An internet-famous shop, just tastes like normal dessert, mainly good for taking pictures.
7 Eat 8 Bar:
Not bad, on the pricier side, four dishes for 382, scallion roasted opium fish is delicious, Yangzhou fried rice is also good.
Maybe I didn't do my homework on food this time, tasty Yangzhou dishes are either hard to find or expensive.
Play:
Grand Canal Museum:
A must-visit, very enjoyable, interesting, even a quick visit takes 4 hours, it can get very hot with many people, wear light clothing, not recommended for those with particularly poor physical strength.
Ge Garden:
Ticket price 48 yuan.
The garden is more beautiful than the residence, which is more common in large households, but it has many rooms.
He Garden:
Ticket price 48 yuan
Opposite to Ge Garden, the residence is more attractive than the garden, perhaps because I went when nothing was blooming, but the residence is indeed very distinctive, a blend of Chinese and Western styles.
Before visiting Ge Garden and He Garden, it's best to learn some history and anecdotes, and if possible, get a guide, you can finish the tour in under an hour.
Slender West Lake:
Ticket price 100 yuan
Recommended to enter from the south gate and exit from the north gate, go in the afternoon to catch the sunset, and if willing, wait for the night view.
To save time and energy, take a boat after entering the south gate, electric boat 50 per person, about 15 minutes, get off at the 24 Bridge and walk back, exit from the south gate
Pishi Street:
An internet-famous street, suitable for girls who like to take photos and check-in.
Caiyi Street, Dongguan Street:
I'm not very interested in such commercial streets, too many people, feels messy, not recommended to spend too much time browsing
Wenchang Pavilion, Siwang Pavilion:
Just take a glance while taking a taxi or when passing by nearby, they are just landmark buildings
🌟Summary:
Still, as Li Bai said, 'to experience the fireworks in March in Yangzhou,' when the flowers haven't bloomed, Yangzhou always seems to lack something. Also, there are indeed many people, and the cost of living is not cheap. There's a high chance of hitting a bad Huaiyang cuisine restaurant, so do more homework before going.

Spring Outing Memoir | A March Stroll on Pishi Street in Yangzhou
Pishi Street was the fur market of ancient Yangzhou city, and now the street is lined with green trees and shops that have an antique charm. Compared to Dongguan Street, it is less crowded and has a more quaint and fresh atmosphere.
🌞 Suitable for daytime visits
There are many cultural and creative shops, toy stores, and cafes
The shop decorations are exquisite, making it a great place for taking photos
Huaiyang cuisine is not very common on this street
Instead, there are a variety of delicacies from different places
So coming to Pishi Street
Is mainly about wandering around and taking photos📷
The super photogenic 'Yangzhou' sign is right here
⏰ Visiting time: 1 hour
Taking a taxi or bus is very convenient

Met the staff at Er Fen Mingyue Tower, learned that it is the smallest garden in Yangzhou, and also recommended Wang's Small Garden and Xiaopangu, the simple beauty of less repair. Jia's courtyard is only left with one wall due to restoration, which is a completely new discovery.
Shouxihu is more beautiful when it blooms, and Geyuan is the favorite garden of this trip, even though the pond is being cleaned up.
🎉 A rainy adventure, the beauty of Yangzhou is even more unique! ☔🌺

Where do Shandong people go for the Spring Festival? 4 small and literary city recommendations! Where do Shandong people go for the Spring Festival? 4 small and literary city recommendations!
Located in Linyi, Shandong, a six-day and five-night self-driving tour guide. The total cost for two people is 3288 yuan.
The first stop : Gaoyou.
Gaoyou in Wang Zengqi's pen, a national historical and cultural city, the hometown of Chinese poetry. This is a small city full of historical charm everywhere, suitable for slowing down and walking around.
Must go: Wang Zengqi Memorial Hall - South Gate Street - Yucheng Post - Zhen Guo Temple (lots of rabbits) - Second Bridge to watch the sunset
Must eat: Yangchun noodles, wontons (only four or five yuan, cheap and delicious) Wang tofu, Pu Bao meat.
Recommend People's Bridge Dumpling Noodle Shop and Fu Gong Bridge Noodle Shop. It feels like any noodle shop is very friendly and reliable.
Second stop: Yangzhou.
'Ten miles of long street markets are connected, and you can see gods on the moonlit bridge', walk around the ancient commercial street, listen to Yangzhou tunes, drink morning tea and eat sugar water, feel the market atmosphere, it is an unprecedented experience for northerners. Always feel that southerners are very good at enjoying life, with a sense of relaxation and literary genes carved into their bones.
Must go: Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, Caiyi Street - Slender West Lake - China Grand Canal Museum
Must eat: Crab yellow noodles, duck blood powder, small steamed buns, Yang Da yogurt (overall not as good and affordable as Gaoyou)
Third stop: Anhui Chaji Ancient Town
Anhui Chaji Ancient Town: 'Ten miles of Cha Village and nine miles of smoke, small bridges, flowing water, apricot blossom day'. This is a small town nestled in the deep mountains, with ancient trees reaching the sky, streams rushing, smoke rising, everything is vivid and powerful and ancient and distant, as if pulling people back to childhood. (On the way to self-driving Chaji, the scenery of Xiaochuan Tibetan Line is also beautiful).
The town's special dishes: dried bamboo shoots braised pork, soy sauce small mixed fish, chestnut chicken, stinky mandarin fish, each Huizhou dish is very suitable for Shandong people's taste.
Fourth stop: Jingdezhen.
A gathering place for talented young people, full of ideals and talents. As a thousand-year-old porcelain capital, there are many unimaginable ceramic artworks, ceramic shops, ceramic markets, and girls can't move their legs.
Must go: Taoxichuan - Sculpture Porcelain Factory - China Ceramic Museum - Yaoli Ancient Town
Must eat: Very popular beef bone powder, cold powder, fried powder, old noodle soup bag, preserved egg meat soup have been tasted, not used to eating, feel far worse than Lu cuisine, do not recommend.

Yangzhou | The Pishi Street, which started in the Yuan Dynasty, has now become a popular street
🚗Leather goods have always been a symbol of fashion and elegance. In the historically prosperous Yangzhou, of course, there can be no lack of leather goods business, and finally formed a "leather goods street". This street is Pishi Street. In the Yuan Dynasty, Pishi Street was called Majunying Sipu South and Majunying Sipu North, and to equip the horse army, of course, there can be no lack of leather goods, thus, Pishi Street and leather goods have a source. Before the construction of the new city in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the location of Pishi Street was still "half village and half city outskirts". In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the place where Pishi Street was still a low-lying area. Yangzhou literati Lu Biyou recorded in a poem after visiting Xingjiao Temple (in May 1949, Xingjiao Temple and Wanshou Temple were changed to the new campus of Yangzhou Normal School, and in 1968 it was changed to Yangzhou No. 5 Middle School, now Tianjiabing Middle School): The ancient temple is desolate and the green water bay, the autumn flood enters the door and the moss is gone. It can be seen that at that time, Pishi Street was crisscrossed with ditches and canals. In the Qing Dynasty, Pishi Street developed into a leather goods market. Although they are all engaged in leather goods, Pishi Street has the distinction of South Pishi and North Pishi, with Zhenjun Lane as the boundary. South Pishi is the southern section of Pishi Street, selling soft leather goods such as leather coats and hats, horse hoof sleeves, leather blankets and mats; North Pishi is the northern section of Pishi Street, selling hard leather goods such as belts, boots, and whips.
🚗The entire street runs from south to north, about 700 meters long, connecting Guangling Road to the south and Wenchang Road to the north. The ancient buildings on both sides of the street with green bricks and black tiles, the tall wall towers, the grand gates, can vaguely see the shadow of the bustling Pishi in the past. It has also become an important place for tourists to take photos and leave memories. Friends who like to take pictures can take a few portraits with a travel shoot.
🚗The shops on both sides of the street are somewhat casual in their layout, and the decoration style is even more varied, almost covering all the styles we can know in the world. But the key point is that you look at these shops' decorations casually, but they have their own unique personality, full of creativity, which is most loved by fashionable and trendy young people. If you are going to Yangzhou, you might as well go to the Pishi Street area for a stroll, I believe you will also like it here.

Book-Café on wonderful Pishi Street
Fushengji book Café (浮生记) on Pishi street in the old town of Yangzhou is my favorite Café in Jiangsu's Yangzhou. The boss travelled a lot all over the world and has a great collection of books and travel books. 🏚️📚☕🎂
The Café serves drinks and some basic sweets like cake. It's perfect for sitting inside or outside on the little yard. Prices are average, around 25-30 RMB for a coffee.
📬 The Café also has a very nice collection of Yangzhou post cards. You can send them from them Café to all over the world. There is no extra fee and the owner brings it to the post station.

In the Qing Dynasty, Pishi Street is a leather goods commercial street in Yangzhou City. It mainly sells leather goods such as leather coats, horseshoe sleeves and leather blankets. Nowadays, Pishi Street is connected to Wenchang Road in the north and Guangling Road in the south. It is a slow life in Yangzhou. Represents a block. Biancheng Bookstore, Fushengji... A small shop with a fresh decoration exudes a strong literary atmosphere.
You can hang out for an hour here, read a book in the bookstore, shop in a literary shop, and come here with friends to take photos of the United States and the United States.
