Solo Travel Retreat | Resort Hotel in Hue, Vietnam
📍Pilgrimage Village Resort & Spa
I saw the guidebook and I definitely wanted to stay here!
I had planned to go to Hue for a day trip, but I suddenly decided to stop staying in Da Nang and stay one night in Hue.
I was so impressed with this hotel.
In conclusion, it was a resort hotel that was perfect for a staycation, and one night was not enough.
[Lobby]
In the open air, where you can feel the warmth of the wood,
we had a welcome drink.
The space was filled with a faint scent of lemongrass.
The staff guided me to my room.
[Room]
I was alone, so I chose the most affordable room.
When I went inside, I could smell the same lemongrass as in the lobby, and when I looked closely,
there was an aroma candle in the fireplace-like place in the room.
The scent was soothing that it lingered until I went to sleep!
The bathroom had a separate shower and bathtub.
The washing space was so spacious that it was a waste to use it for one person.
[Restaurant]
Since we arrived at night,
we went to the restaurant attached to the hotel for dinner 🍽️
We ordered bun bo hue, a specialty of Hue.
We had a huda beer with it 🍻
Bun is a thin noodle like somen.
It was like somen pho with meatballs,
and the broth was delicious.
It also came with something like an appetizer.
It was about twice as expensive as eating it in the city,
but the total was still less than 2000 yen.
[Breakfast]
To get to the breakfast venue,
you walk through a forest-like area from where our room is to an old house by the river.
The grounds here are quite large, so it's fun to walk around.
The menu includes classic Vietnamese dishes,
including freshly baked banh xeo and freshly made pho.
It's also nice that there are lots of tropical fruits.
[Yoga class]
There is a building called the meditation room,
where a short yoga class starts at around 7am.
I tried yoga for the first time in Vietnam, something I've never done in Japan.
I was a little worried because I'm a bit stiff, but the Westerners around me were all struggling, and I felt a mysterious sense of camaraderie.
Yoga in the natural breeze and morning sun is the best🧘♀️
(Whether I did it or not is another matter)
They give you tea at the end🍵
[Spa]
I booked a plan that included a massage ticket, so I tried a massage before checking out.
The path to the spa had a sacred atmosphere, but once inside, it was a warm space and the staff were polite and relaxed.
The fatigue from the flight the day before was thoroughly relieved.
One day is not enough, and you will want to stay for two or three nights.
It was such a wonderful resort hotel🏝️
