Guide to visiting Guadape before Medellin
📍Address: El Peñol-Guatapé, Antioquia Province #km 10, next to the boulder
🏝️Reservation guide: Choose to land at an airport between Medellin and Guadape, take a Didi directly to Guadape, and check into the Memories Hotel. It costs 15 thousand to walk to the bottom of the boulder by tuk-tuk, and 30 thousand for each person as a ticket. The steps of the boulder are designed very reasonably, with the upward and downward steps similar to a scissor ladder, with less than 700 vertical steps. You can have a panoramic view of the whole city of Guadape when you go up, which is quite spectacular.
In the evening you can go to the small square in the town for a drink. It is very lively and there are resident singers. There is a lack of delicious food, basically just French fries and barbecue.
The next day, buy a boat ticket at the tuk-tuk place below the boulder and go directly to Pablo
🚗Transportation strategy: You can choose Memories Hotel, which is very close to the boulder and a five-minute walk away, but you need to take a tuk-tuk to the town, which costs 15,000 pesos. Be prepared with change. If it’s 20,000, you may get change and they will force you to tip.
