Nakhon Pathom Pagoda is located in Nakhon Pathom Province, 80 kilometers west of Bangkok, Thailand. The Nakhon Pathom pagoda was only 39 meters high when it was first built. By 1853, the pagoda almost collapsed, and Rama IV rebuilt a new pagoda. The pagoda, which was built for the second time, was partially destroyed due to heavy rain. Later, it was re-expanded by Rama V, and it became the current pagoda. Now this big pagoda is composed of 3 pagodas built in different periods, one on top of the other, which is a rare shape in the architectural art of pagodas. The tower is 120 meters high, the spiral spire is 40 meters high, and the circular tower bottom is 57 meters in diameter. From a distance, the Golden Pagoda looks like a giant clock, which is very spectacular against the blue sky and white clouds. There is a golden Buddha and a reclining Buddha in the golden pagoda, which contain precious Buddha bones and relics. In addition, the ashes of Rama VI are also buried in the tower. The base of the tower is a two-story huge platform. On the first floor platform where the tower is located, there are two models of "the tower within the tower", which introduce the two constructions of the tower to the visitors. There are many trees transplanted from Sri Lanka planted on the platform, the trees are shadowy, and the environment is quiet. There are 4 Buddhist halls on the second-floor platform. The Buddha hall on the east is resplendent, with a statue of Sakyamuni. There are murals of trees on the wall behind the Buddha statues. The Buddha Hall on the west side is the Reclining Buddha Hall. There is a tree in front of the hall that has been around for three or four hundred years, which is a precious thing in the Buddha Hall. The Buddhist temples in the south and north also have their own characteristics. There are also 24 bell pavilions surrounding the tower, in groups of 6 at equal intervals. Every year in mid-November of the Buddhist calendar, the Nakhon Pathom Festival holds a Buddha ceremony, which will be held in the square where the Shwedagon Pagoda is located. At that time, good men and women, businessmen and tourists from all over the world will not only worship Buddha, but also exchange materials and watch cultural performances.
