Fenghuang Town is located on the southern slope of Qinling Mountains, surrounded by mountains and rivers. The three rivers of Shechuan River, Zao River and Shuidigou River meet here to form a delta. It was called "Sancha River Mouth" in Tang and Song Dynasties, "Shechuan River Township Capital" in Yuan Dynasty, and "Shechuanli" and "Shangmengli" fifteen years after Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (1479 AD), and was renamed "Shechuanli" and "Shangmengli" during the Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. Phoenix Mouth" was renamed "Phoenix Town" in 1941. The winding streets of Fenghuang Town Old Street and the old houses of Ming and Qing Dynasties scattered on both sides are the distinctive features here. The traditional handmade papermaking and forging here still follow the pattern of the past. More than 60 dwellings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are still well preserved in this ancient town, which is more than 2,000 meters long from east to west. There is a slate-covered creek along the main street, and another perpendicular to it runs through the town, forming a cross-shaped water system. The streets on both sides of the old street are full of pavements, and behind the pavilions are residences. The gate facing the street is generally made of sturdy and wear-resistant walnut wood or lacquered wood, dyed with earth paint, bright, clean and bright; the gate pier is made of stone carving flowers. The wooden houses in Fenghuang Town are relatively small, with exquisite and reasonable design, good rainproof, moisture-proof and fireproof performance. Compared with the traditional northern houses, there are many characteristics of southern houses. Walking on the old street of Fenghuang Town, you will clearly feel the difference between the buildings on the old street and the Guanzhong dwellings. From the appearance, it is more like a Huizhou dwelling, with pink walls and green tiles, decorations on both sides of the ridge, lotus or plum blossoms in the center, and animal ridges or dragon heads on both sides. Many houses are three-in and three-open, and the three yards are raised floor by floor. Such a design is more suitable for excess Shaanxi and facilitates drainage. There are many silk pressing workshops in Fenghuang Town, and the silk fabrics here are made of local pressed silk. The old trade of blacksmiths still remains.
