💒 Phra Thinang Si Suthaniwat is located on the west side of Phra Thinang Phiman Chakri. It is a two-story brick and mortar building with a reinforced concrete structure and a small dome on top. It was originally used as the royal audience hall of the palace, but later it was used to receive royal ladies because there were rectangular rooms arranged in groups connected at the central hall. The architectural style is a European mansion in the romantic style. Originally, this building was called Phra Thinang Lakshmi Philas, named after Queen Lakshmi Lawan. Later, the name was changed to Phra Thinang Si Suthaniwat at present. The lower floor consists of a large suite of rooms. The east side is the dining room and the living room. Next is the staircase hall. The west side is the bedroom of the maids, the dressing room, the bathroom and the music room. The upper floor has three sets of bedrooms. The east and west sides are for the royal ladies and the south side is for the maids.
🕍 Phra Thinang Thewarat Sapharom It is assumed that it was built when Queen Savang Vadhana, the Queen Mother, came to reside at the Phaya Thai Palace. Designed by an Italian engineer, this throne hall has a combination of classical and Art Nouveau architecture built with a concrete structure. The southern gable has the royal initials S.P. (Saowapha Phongsri), making this throne hall called Thong Phra Rong S.P. The structure is made of wood. The building plan is a rectangle measuring 12.24 meters, divided into 3 parts. The middle column is 6 meters wide and the sides are 3 meters wide on each side. The walls of Mars are doors that can be opened completely, making it look like a hall. The upper wall has a skylight about half the size of the lower door. On top, there is a walkway that follows the shape of the roof, which has a cross-shaped plan with unequal arms. The north and south axes are longer than the east and west axes. The upper part of the roof is a Roman dome. The eaves are decorated with fretwork. This throne hall is used as a place to hold important royal ceremonies and to receive private guests, including being used as a venue for plays. 🏰 Udomwanabhorn Throne Hall Located on the east side of the Waikunthepyathan Throne Hall, it is a two-storey brick and mortar throne hall with a simple design. The structure is reinforced concrete with a steel structure in the Art Nouveau style. It is decorated with white glazed tiles, emphasizing the entrance door and a large staircase in the center. It is assumed that the construction of this throne hall is unlikely to be related to the Phiman Chakri Throne Hall group. However, when it was used as the residence of Princess Sucharit Suda and Queen Suvadhana, the royal consort and the royal consort of King Rama VI respectively, a walkway was built connecting it to the Waikunthepyathan Throne Hall on the second floor, allowing people to walk to the Phiman Chakri Throne Hall group. It is currently not open to visitors because Phramongkutklao Hospital uses this throne hall as the location of the Phramongkutklao Medical Center. 🌝📣🔥Open for viewing only on Saturdays and Sundays, 2 rounds per day, 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The tour takes about 1.5-2 hours with an officer to guide you around.
