Prague Travel Guide
There have been many posts about recommended attractions, so here are a few things to note:
1. Be sure to check the weather forecast and choose a sunny day to go to Prague! Red tiles and yellow walls look better on a sunny day than on a cloudy day. As shown in the picture, Prague on a cloudy day turned me into the white balance + saturation warrior that I once despised the most.
2. Public toilets require payment, and most of them can only be paid in cash. The general price is 20 Czech crowns (1 euro). It is recommended to carry some small cash with you.
3. Most places in the city center accept payment in Euros, but some only accept payment in Czech Koruna, so it is recommended to exchange them in Czech Koruna. Don't exchange money at the EuroNet ATMs that are everywhere on the street. The exchange rate is very bad and the handling fee is very high, which can add up to almost 20% more than you charge. If you are in a hurry to change money, you can go to the bank to exchange it, where the handling fee and exchange rate are good.
4. The Kafka rotating statue starts rotating every hour and lasts for 15 minutes. If you want to go and see it, please pay attention to the time.
5. The puppet show of the astronomical clock also starts on the hour and lasts for 1 minute. You can go five minutes in advance to find a relatively front position. There will be many people taking pictures around it.
6. I highly recommend going to the observation tower, which has a great view that far exceeds the castle area. The cable car to the observation tower is under maintenance recently. If you want to go up, you have to climb a mountain. The mountain is quite high. Remember to eat something before going and bring some water. It takes 300 steps to walk up to the observation tower, and the elevator has to be paid for separately (150 kronor). The tickets for the four attractions in the Castle District (the church, the royal palace, the Golden Lane and St. Vitus Cathedral) are sold together, and cost about 600 Czech crowns. There is nothing particularly good to see inside the church, the royal palace and the castle. There are not many exhibits and the furnishings are not very gorgeous. Mucha's stained glass windows in St. Vitus Cathedral are worth seeing, but if you are not very interested, it is not recommended to go in, after all, you have to buy tickets for four places at once.
7. The Pork's, a restaurant recommended by many people, is indeed very delicious. You must order the pork elbow, it is so delicious and the portion is quite large, enough for three girls with normal appetite, but two people will feel a bit full. If there are not many people, you can try the pork elbow sandwich (see what the next table ordered, but the price-performance ratio is not as good as ordering the pork elbow directly, the price is almost the same but the amount of meat is halved). The only soup in the store is also very delicious. The store opens at 12:00 noon every day, so it is recommended to go early. There will be long queues around 12:30. 8. Although English is widely spoken in Prague, many people here have strange accents when speaking English. If your English level is average, you may not understand them well. It is recommended that you go with a friend who is good at English.
There are many people who keep dogs in Prague. There will be dog poop on the streets. Be careful. I stepped on a pile of dog poop. There was no place to clean my shoes, so they continued to stink.
