The popular crispy puffs in Kurokawa Onsen Street, Kyushu, Japan: Patisserie Roku
#100 Ways to Travel
On a self-driving trip to Kyushu, we stopped at #KurokawaOnsen on the way from Fukuoka to Yufuin. There are several popular dessert shops in the hot spring street. In addition to Dorayaki, there are Patisserie Roku's puffs and puddings. In comparison, I personally prefer the handmade pudding, which has a dense and smooth texture. However, the store is small, so I can only take out and find a place to eat outside the store.
The freshly baked puffs are very fragrant, the custard filling has a rich milky flavor, and the hazelnut granules on the outside have a crispy texture. Although you can only take out and find a place to eat, the scenery of Kurokawa Onsen Street is quite leisurely, with a sense of romance and comfort.
However, Kurokawa Onsen Street is not big, and there are not many places to visit. There are lighting decorations on the river, and most tourists go there to soak in the hot springs. You can buy a hot spring package and experience the hot springs in any three hotels. It is a very suitable Kyushu attraction for a half-day trip.
