Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur Kathmandu Nepal
Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of the city of Lalitpur in Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attractions is the medieval royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided.
The Durbar Square is a marvel of Newar architecture. The square floor is tiled with red bricks.[1] There are many temples and statues in the area. The main temples are aligned opposite the western face of the palace. The entrance of the temples faces east, towards the palace. There is also a bell situated in the alignment beside the main temples. The Square also holds old Newari residential houses. There are other temples and structures in and around Patan Durbar Square built by the Newa People. A center of both Hinduism and Buddhism, Patan Durbar Square has 136 "bahals" (courtyards) and 55 major temples.
The square was heavily damaged by the earthquake in April 2015.

Durbar Square, this may be a place to visit in Nepal. Nepal has three Durbar Squares, each recording local life and is the epitome of Nepalese life. I am coming to Patan Durbar Square.
Duba Square has numerous and dense temple palaces, not only Nepalese wooden temples, stone-built Indian temples and a small number of Tibetan-style temples, but later in the earthquake, large Some stone temples collapsed and the wooden temple remained relatively intact. The three Durbar Squares are integrated with the people's living quarters. It is worth a visit, and there are often festivals and parades in the square, simple and full. National characteristics.
In the morning, people will gather in front of the statue of the square to pray, apply the red wax on the eyebrows of the gods and the insteps of the hands, and also wax the wax on their own eyebrows to pray for good luck.
Locals wearing traditional Chinese costumes and students wearing Western-style uniforms travel together in this ancient city, forming a stark contrast, as if connecting the country's past and future.
Patans Durbar Square is more awkward and more lively than Badgren, and the locals are intertwined with visitors from afar, adding a lot of energy to the square. Here, finding a historic building, quiet viewing and thinking is undoubtedly an unforgettable event.
When approaching it, it has quietly stared at you; when it embraces it, it also spreads its arms to you. There are beautiful buildings here, accompanied by friendly and loving people. Durbar Square brings the double impact of vision and mind.
When we arrived here, we just caught up with the locals to hold a small ceremony. Lively and memorable
In the city of faith in Kathmandu, people's devotion to religion is evident, and there are believers everywhere who are pious and worshipful.
Patan Durbar Square is a great place to experience the local culture and culture. Many ancient celebrations and events are performed here, which is very exciting.
Patan is also known as Lalitpur. In Nepali, Lalitpur is the "city of art." Patan is located in the south of Kathmandu, bordered by the holy river of Bagmati. Although it and the Kathmandu are administratively two cities, the expansion of the city and the newly built bridges have connected them together, and the distance between the two central cities is only five or six kilometers. It is said that Patans Mala Dynasty was earlier than Gadu and Badang in the valley, so its temple was built earlier.
Unlike the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square is a pedestrian street. The ancient temples stand on the roads of the two emperors, and temples of various sizes vary from place to place. It is said that in the ancient city of Patan, there are more than a thousand temple buildings of various sizes. In addition to those classic buildings concentrated in the Palace Square, more small temples and small temples scattered in the streets and lanes of residential houses, can still be seen everywhere.
I prefer Patan to the chaos and crowding in Kathmandu. In the old small building, there are always people sitting in front of the house, chatting, sunbathing, and daze. There are no crowds of tourists and hawkers who sell goods. The merchants who sell beautiful bronzes or Buddha statues are just opening the door. Unless they ask, they usually just look at me silently and silently. Turning over a deep alley, you will be attracted by some strange fragrances. In the low-thickness shop, the pan is frying with small pancakes (Bara), black fish, beef tongue, oil. Fried and fragrant.
The earthquake in Nepal on April 25, 2015 focused on the eyes of the whole world. The earthquake has not only caused many people to die, but many families have been fragmented. It has also destroyed many valuable architectural art that has been included in the world cultural heritage. Wrist.
The National Day trip to Nepal in 2012 comes to mind, Monkey Temple, Durbar Square, Patan, Badgau, ancient architectural art, exquisite carving art, etc., as well as the passionate locals encountered during the trip. People are unforgettable.
Patan is the ancient city of Nepal. It is called "lalitpur", which means "city of art". It is separated from Kathmandu by a river. It is a tourist destination. In 1980, it was listed by UNESCO as one of the 18 ancient cities protected by Asia.
Patan has a long history of Buddhism, and the stupa at the four corners of the city is said to have been built by the great Buddhist monarch, Ashoka, around 250 BC. Before 1597, Patan was governed by the local aristocracy. Later, King ShivaMalla of Kathmandu occupied the city and realized the temporary unification of the valley. During the reign of the Mala Dynasty in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, Tan reached an unprecedented architectural peak.
Patan is separated from Kathmandu by a river, but it is recommended to stay here for one night, not only to ensure sufficient time for sightseeing, but also to meet different scenery in the evening and early morning. There are many hotels near Patan Durbar Square, preferably booked in advance.
