Lau Shui Heung, Hok Tau Reservoir
The name of Lau Shui Heung Reservoir is beautiful, and a beautiful picture of greenery and gurgling water naturally appears in my mind. Upon visiting, it is indeed worthy of its reputation. The mirror-like Lau Shui Heung Reservoir reflects the elegant and dense white thousand layers, forming a "mirror of the forest", and the fairy index makes Lau Shui Heung gain the reputation of "Little Guilin in Hong Kong". Leaving the tranquil Lau Shui Heung Reservoir, I climbed to the top of Shek Au Shan in one breath, overlooking Sheung Shui and Fanling, and I felt suddenly relaxed when I was at a high place. Station 1: The choice of photography Lau Shui Heung Pond
Lau Shui Heung Reservoir is located within the scope of Pat Sin Leng Country Park. It is an irrigation reservoir. The water in the reservoir is used for irrigating nearby farmland and was built after World War II.
Not long after entering the reservoir, I came to the pond. I could take pictures of the neatly arranged white thousand layers on the opposite bank and the beautiful scenery of the reservoir. The mirror-like reservoir reflects the full trees on the pond, full of fairy spirit, beautiful and pleasing to the eye, and the scenery is really beautiful.
The reservoir is full of biodiversity, and I saw different species of dragonflies along the way. The mountain girl was fortunate to meet the purple-red dragonfly.
Walking along the country trail, after passing the flowing water bridge, there is a small path to the pond, where you can appreciate the lake and mountain scenery of the reservoir up close. The towering trees are not to be missed by photography enthusiasts!
There are many tree scenes along the way, and the reflections in the water are particularly beautiful, as if walking into Alice in Wonderland.
Many towering white thousand layers are planted on the pond, which are the results of the tree planting plan. Taking pictures with a fisheye lens is very imposing.
There are many strange trees on the country trail. This one looks like a love-hate entangled suspect is a hundred flowers fish vine, which should be viewed from a distance and not be played with.
The white thousand-layer tree on the pond will continuously grow bark, and each piece of bark also contains countless "layers".
After passing the flowing water bridge, you can walk to the pond and look around the beautiful scenery of the entire reservoir.
Station 2: Climb to the top of Shek Au Shan Overlooking the Northeast New Territories
Walking along the Lau Shui Heung Country Trail towards Hok Tau Reservoir, you will pass Shek Au Shan. Before setting off, the mountain girl saw netizens had taken pictures of the elevation column, which was hidden at the top of the mountain, and almost ignored the fork in the road to turn left to attack the top when walking in the forest.
The attack section is a dirt road, most of which is hidden in the bushes. The section is a bit difficult to walk. It is recommended to wear non-slip shoes and long-sleeved shirts and pants. Everyone should decide whether to climb to the top according to their abilities, or go directly to Hok Tau Reservoir.
Climbing up Shek Au Shan, it happened to be spring recently, and you can see the small hill opposite is full of Lixia cone flowers!
The climbing height is only about ten meters, and it takes about ten minutes to walk, but the landscape is vast, overlooking Sheung Shui, Fanling, and even the military land, Queen's Hill, Princess Hill, Red Flower Fort, etc., it is worth a climb.
Station 3: Hok Tau Reservoir Camping Hot Spot
After walking past the top of Shek Au Shan, walk back to the country trail, and soon descend to Hok Tau Reservoir. If you have plenty of time, you can also walk around the reservoir. The mirror-like water is equally beautiful, the reflection of the stone bridge is clearly visible, and people seem small.
Both Lau Shui Heung Reservoir and Hok Tau Reservoir have barbecue areas and camping sites. The Hok Tau campsite is closer to the road. After getting off the car, you can reach it in a few minutes, which is very convenient.
Return to Hok Tau Wai by minibus, the queue for the car on holidays is particularly long, some people choose to call a car to leave, it is really a wise move!
