Prague Old Town Classic Route One-Day Stroll
#2月好去地方2025
If you want to experience the charm of Prague, the best way is to take a day trip to the Old Town, starting from the Old Town Square and radiating outwards, from the Astronomical Clock, Tyn Cathedral, Powder Tower, all the way to Charles Bridge, and take in the beautiful scenery of the Vltava River.
#Prague Old Town Square
Located in the center of Prague's Old Town, it is a typical European square surrounded by famous scenic buildings. In the center of the square stands a statue of Jan Hus, the pioneer of the Czech religious revolution, Tyn Church, the astronomical clock, the art gallery, the Old Town Hall, etc.
Not only are there many tourists during the day, but it is also quite lively at night. The bars and nightclubs become more beautiful as the night goes on, and there is also a limited Christmas market in winter.
#Tyn Church
A classic landmark in Prague, it features tall, symmetrical spires. It was originally a Romanesque church, but was later converted to a Gothic-style building.
The black candlestick-like twin spires are particularly unique and eye-catching among the red-tiled roofs of the old town. They have different styles during the day and at night. You can also climb the tower to overlook the entire cityscape of Prague.
But what’s interesting is that because the twin-spired black towers look a bit like a scene from a horror movie under the moonlight, eerie and strange, it is also called the Devil’s Church.
#Prague Astronomical Clock
The oldest astronomical clock still in operation is part of the tower of Prague's Old Town Hall. It tells the time every hour, so it is always crowded.
The three faces of the astronomical clock represent the twelve constellations, the twelve hours, and the zodiac. It is quite interesting and good for taking photos. You can also pay to climb the clock tower to see the secrets inside.
#Prague Powder Tower
The Gothic tower located at the entrance of Prague's Old Town was originally one of the city gates and connected to the city wall. Later, it was used to store gunpowder, so it was called the Powder Tower. The exterior of the Powder Tower features exquisite medieval carvings and decorations, and is a representative landmark of Prague's Old Town.
#PragueCharlesBridge
This historic bridge, full of the sense of time, spans the Vltava River, connecting the Old Town and the Castle District. There are 30 statues on the bridge and three bridge towers at both ends. It is said that making a wish on the bridge will come true!
There are two legends. One is that if you touch a dog, you will make a wish and it will come true. The other is that you should step on a nail with your right foot, touch five stars with your left fingers, and touch a painting with your right hand. Both methods are not difficult, you can try them.
