It takes about 20 minutes from Thamel area depends on traffic, recommend to visit with Bouddhanath stupa in an evening (they are in the same area). Ticket cost 1,000 NRps. After buy the ticket, turn right out of a ticket office we can see the cremation along the Bagmati river (they believe that the death body will go along this river to Kongka river in India). The temple is a Hindu open cremation site where those very recently decist will be taken washed in the river, wrapped and then cremated. While we were there a number of bodies were carried in and the families, friends and religious leaders took part in the precession and prayers.
