The train from the airport was *quite the adventure*—let’s just say the platform left more than a few tourists (including me) scratching their heads. 🚆😂 But hey, it’s all part of the journey, right? Once I found my way, this city completely won me over. After weeks of working across Europe, I finally found comfort in Amsterdam’s incredible Asian food scene. 🥢 From steaming bowls of Vietnamese pho to spicy Thai curries and authentic Chinese dumplings, every bite felt like a warm hug. 🍜 I also found a super delicious yet affordable Italian food for takeaway, it’s really one of the best meals I have had for the trip! But Amsterdam is so much more than its food. Mornings here are magical—peaceful walks along cobblestone streets, the symphony of bicycles, and that *distinctly Amsterdam* scent in the air. 🚲 I took the free ferry to Adam Lookout for breathtaking skyline views and even ventured into the Red Light District—an experience that’s as bold and unforgettable as the city itself. 👀 Amsterdam is a city of contrasts: chaotic train platforms and serene canals, traditional Dutch charm and international flair. I took the train from Schiphol International Airport to Amsterdam Central Station. If you purchase a ticket at the Ticket Office, it is about 1 euro more expensive than purchasing a ticket online by installing the app. 2. February Weather in Amsterdam When you arrive in Amsterdam, you can feel the wind blowing fiercely. The weather in February is cloudy and overcast, and the wind is as strong as the seaside of Busan, so it feels cold. The temperature is similar to Korea, but you should dress warmly because the wind blows a lot. 3. Things to be careful of. People who are sensitive to smoking or smells should bring a mask when traveling to Amsterdam. 4. Amsterdam Central Station and Transportation Amsterdam Central Station is also the gateway to traveling around Amsterdam. If you take the Sprinter train, it is easy to visit the nearby windmill village - Zaanse Hans. If you buy a transportation pass for moving around Amsterdam, you can go to almost all tourist attractions. The trams are very active. 5. Transportation or Pass Transportation Pass / Amsterdam City Pass / Travel Pass. If you are going to visit more than 4 museums or attractions, it is more profitable to buy a City Pass or Travel Pass. You can buy it at the tourist information center (there are many around Dam Square)! The staff is very friendly. The transportation pass is a 1-day/2-day/3-day unlimited pass that allows you to ride public transportation such as trams and buses. A 3-day pass costs about 21 euros. Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts in Amsterdam is conveniently located at Damrak 1-5. It's perfect for those who like a more casual vibe. The surrounding area is also very convenient, with the central train station just a short walk away, making transportation super convenient! The Park Plaza has a modern decor style, giving off a fashionable and comfortable vibe. 🛋️ The lobby design is grand, and the front desk reception is quick, not slow, but the attitude could be a bit more enthusiastic. The hotel has complete facilities, including a gym and meeting rooms. As for the rooms, they are spacious, clean, and tidy, with modern facilities, making them very comfortable. The room we stayed in 🛏️ was quite comfortable, with soft bedding and good quality pillows and mattresses. The room's TV and other facilities were all in good working order. The bathroom was clean, with all the necessary amenities, which is a big plus for those who don't like to travel with a lot of stuff. There are also plenty of good places to eat nearby! If you're a foodie like me, you'll have a great time. De Silveren Spiegel is a restaurant with an excellent atmosphere and dishes that are unforgettable. There's also Roux, a modern-style restaurant with a rich variety of dishes. EatWith: Martine of Amsterdam offers local flavors, providing a unique culinary experience. Other recommended restaurants like Restaurant Mont Blanc, Graham's Kitchen, and Midtown Grill each have their own unique features, making it a paradise for food lovers! However, when it comes to the hotel's drawbacks, I would say it's the front desk service. I encountered a receptionist with a somewhat cold attitude for the first time, which slightly affected my mood. Overall, Park Plaza's hardware facilities and location are excellent, especially for those with short stays or budget airline transfers. If you value service attitude, this is something to consider. This hotel boasts a prime location right opposite the central train station and within minutes walk of many attractions! We opted for a canal cruise directly opposite the hotel, was easy for a early morning flight and the hotel in itself is beautiful! Regardless of the hussle and bustle outside , no noise can be heard from within your room! There is a stylish bar and also leisure facilities including an equipt gym :)
