Xiamen|Enjoy a City Staycation at Pan Pacific Xiamen Hotel
Pan Pacific Xiamen Hotel is located in the Hubin North CBD, next to Jianye Road Metro Station and the Shanhai Health Trail, less than 10 minutes from Dongdu Pier, the departure point for Gulangyu Island. It is an ideal base for exploring Xiamen city or resting after a day on Gulangyu Island. During a recent visit to Xiamen, I stayed one night at this hotel and had an excellent staycation experience.
The main entrance leads to the lobby bar, where floor-to-ceiling windows overlook trees that block out the outdoor noise. Old photos documenting Xiamen’s development and exquisite tea sets adorn the walls. The hotel offers a sumptuous afternoon tea barbecue, perfect for replenishing energy after a tiring journey. The front desk cleverly uses mirrors as decoration, extending the space visually, and the grand staircase from the second floor down is a great spot for photos.
The hotel’s Chinese restaurant specializes in Cantonese cuisine and authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum. During this trip, I enjoyed a dim sum buffet here. The restaurant maintains consistent quality while incorporating local culture, offering innovative dishes as well as traditional Minnan snacks like misua (thin wheat noodles) and peanut soup. After a satisfying meal, I worked out in the hotel gym, which features all Technogym cardio equipment. The outdoor pool’s flowing water features on both sides provide relaxing white noise. The double spa room is also well-appointed, with massages that soothe tense muscles and nerves.
I stayed in the hotel’s deluxe king room, which offers sea and mountain views from the window. The king bed provides a choice of soft or firm pillows. Both the square lamp by the sofa and the soft bedside lights showcase beautiful design. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area with an independent bathtub, and amenities from the JO Loves series, leaving a refreshing green mango scent after use. I especially like the ceramic or glass basins in the guest rooms, which feel classic and high-quality. For dinner, I indulged in seafood barbecue and Southeast Asian-style chicken rice at the buffet restaurant. Breakfast included satay noodles and a variety of bread. After dining, I enjoyed the sea view from the executive lounge or took a bath in the room’s tub, completing a perfect staycation experience.
See you next time.
