Last time in Vicenza 🎻
#100WaysOfTravel
Just got back from a lovely trip to Vicenza, and it completely exceeded my expectations! 🏛️ This city is a true architectural gem, thanks to the incredible works of Andrea Palladio. My first stop was the Teatro Olimpico, the oldest indoor theater in the world. The entrance fee was €11, and stepping inside was like going back in time. The illusionistic stage design was simply mind-blowing. 🎭
Strolling around Vicenza, I felt like I was in an open-air museum. The Basilica Palladiana, with its striking white arches, is a must-see (entry €5). From its rooftop terrace, you get an amazing view of the city and the surrounding hills. 🌄 I also visited Villa La Rotonda just outside the city, one of Palladio’s masterpieces. Though the entrance to the grounds is €10, the serene setting and the harmony of the architecture are worth it.
The town is small enough to explore on foot, and every street is packed with beautiful buildings, cozy cafes, and boutiques. 🛍️ Plus, it’s less touristy than other Italian cities, which made it even more enjoyable. Definitely a must-visit for architecture lovers! #trip #Vicenza #Palladio #Italy #Architecture #HiddenGem
