Palermo, Sicily
#外游
The beauty of Palermo, the ancient city of Sicily, exceeded my expectations. Its beauty is neither stunning nor elegant, but a very real sense of life. It feels a bit like the people of Palermo are living in the prosperity of the past, which is a wonderful feeling.
In Palermo, which is full of historical charm, every street corner is filled with music and laughter at night. People gathered in the streets and squares, talking loudly, drinking and singing, and stayed up all night~~~
Friends who live here told me that as soon as Wednesdays and Thursdays come, people in Palermo start taking to the streets to celebrate the weekend together. The main church of Palermo is a beautiful building that should not be missed. Be sure to visit and take a look. In addition, there are also many historical buildings in the city that are amazing.
🔶Fontana Pretoria🔶
The very gorgeous and giant fountain Fontana Pretoria is really beautiful! ! At night, the spotlights are on next to the fountain, giving it a different kind of beauty. 💛
There are many statues around the fountain. The fountain built in 1554 was originally placed in a private garden in Florence. In 1581, the government of Palermo bought it and placed it in front of a palace in the main square.
At that time, a group of devout believers could not accept the multiple naked statues next to the fountain, so the fountain was also called the "Fountain of Shame"
🔶Quattro Canti 🔶
This place is very special💛The three-story building in the photo (with a statue on each of the upper two floors and a fountain on the lower floor) is actually located at a crossroads.
The four corners of the intersection have the same architectural design. The purpose of this crossroad is to divide the ancient city into four major areas. ~ Very thoughtful design.
🔶Chiesa di San Cataldo🔶
Palermo has been ruled by many countries, including the Arab Emirates and the Norman Kingdom, so some buildings also have a Middle Eastern flavor.
Just like the church Chiesa di San Cataldo, the three red domes are very Norman style.
