Haenggung-dong is famous as a hot place these days because the traditional buildings of Suwon Hwaseong and modern buildings are in harmony. 🤭 Cafe Bonjireureu located in Haenggung-dong is a cafe that makes that emotion even stronger! It’s good to go alone and read a book or work on a laptop, or you can go with friends and sit on a big sofa and chat ㅎㅎ (The sofa is really big..👍) And the owner’s sense of song selection is so good that you can lose all your attention to the song that’s playing 😭 The cafe’s basic drinks are diverse and the desserts taste good. If you look at the first photo, you can see 3 foods that look like rice cakes, but surprisingly, they’re not rice cakes but crunchy cookies. I was surprised that they gave me dessert as a service! I was surprised again because of the unexpected texture and taste..! It tastes a bit like a cookie butter waffle. It was so delicious 🥲 What's special is that the owner cares a lot about the scent! You can see candles from Le Labo and Aesop placed everywhere, and even in the bathroom..! This time, I walked through Paldalmun Market, Yeongdong Market, and Jidong Market, which are the closest to Paldalmun. Rather than a market for tourists, they are like a local kitchen, and they were incredibly lively and interesting. Jidong Market in particular is characterized by a castle gate-like structure on the roof, and its unique entrance caught my eye. This is also famous as one of the three major Sundae Alleys in the country. There are more than 20 stores, and at lunchtime, they were all full of customers. I went alone, so I ate Sundae Gukbap. In addition to Sundae, it was filled with various parts of the fish, and the Sundae was easy to eat without any odor. A traditional market with over 200 years of history. On the afternoon of February 17th, I visited the Suwon Hwaseong Paldalmun Information Center and was able to obtain useful information to make my tour of Suwon Hwaseong even more enjoyable. The information center was neatly and systematically managed, and the friendly staff members explained the history of Hwaseong and recommended courses in detail, which was a great help for my solo trip. I was overwhelmed by the scenery of the snow-covered fortress walls at the southern gate built in 1796! The guide told me, "There is a stone engraving written by King Jeongjo on the left side of the gate," so I went to find it, and found a record of the '24 Martial Arts' training. 📌 Must-see for couples Hidden point: Pine forest path behind Paldalmun → Quiet photo zone Recommended time: 3-4 PM (the sunset colors the gate tower golden) Snack: Recharge with walnut cookies (2,500 won) from nearby 'Paldal Bakery' 🚨 Precautions Slippery stairs (hiking shoes required) No flash photography inside (protection of relics) Security guards will be in charge of drone use Around 5 PM, the view of Suwon City from the gate tower was spectacular with the sunset. The fresh raw fish melted in my mouth, and the various vegetables that came with it were fresh and added a harmonious taste. In particular, the raw fish and ssamjang with Urongi were delicious with a rich and deep flavor. The side dishes were neat and sincere, so it was satisfying enough for a meal. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and the kindness of the staff made the meal even more enjoyable. If you visit Paldalmun, I recommend this restaurant as a must-visit.

After visiting Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, there is a chicken street, so I was looking for a place to eat the famous Suwon chicken... I found a restaurant that was drawing in customers one after another! There were all kinds of people, including families, couples, and groups of friends, and a line started to form outside the restaurant! I knew I had no choice but to join, so I immediately joined the line. The line kept moving forward thanks to the proprietress's amazing customer service. Hmm, they have second floor seats too. There are quite a few seats. In the meantime, I was seated and ordered plain and seasoned chicken and draft beer. Here it comes! It's quite a lot. Each portion is heaped up. It seems to be a whole chicken, and it comes with legs and gizzards for KRW20,000. It was crispy and fluffy, and we ate it fighting over it. Even though it was fried food, it wasn't oily at all and was light. I ate so much fried food and didn't feel heavy, what was going on? ? It definitely goes great with beer! It was so delicious that I finished it in no time, and the waitress said it was amazing. I noticed that almost everyone was taking some home. (Takeout boxes and bags were all ready) Wow, it was so delicious that I couldn't even think about leaving any leftovers. It will be near Paldalmun. I recommend going to Suwon’s Tongdak Street! - Except for Jinmi Tongdak, Jang-an Tongdak, and Yongseong Tongdak, there are no old Tongdak restaurants, so choose as you see fit!! * Parking: There are paid parking lots nearby, and there were many cars using the free parking on the street. Since parking is inconvenient, I recommend using public transportation A walking trail connecting the old Gyeonggi Provincial Office to Paldalsan-Hwaseong Haenggung-Jangangmun.
