Mingun Pagoda, an unfinished palace built by local king Meng Yun for his queen, is one of the largest brick buildings in the world. Due to the huge project, it took 11 years when King Meng Yun died, but only 1/3 of the entire building was completed. In 1838, the giant tower was damaged in an earthquake, and a crack opened in the tower body. Despite being an unfinished building, it is still one of the largest ancient pagoda ruins in Myanmar, and the atmosphere is as grand as ever. The tower is a thick cuboid, with the exception of the gate, which is white, and the entire building is dark brown. If constructed according to the plan, the tower will be 160 meters high, which is 48 meters higher than the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon.
