At the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula in the east of Aichi Prefecture, there is a chalk lighthouse, Irago Cape Lighthouse, at Cape Irago. The lighthouse standing among the blue sea and sky is wonderful, but you can also spend a romantic time with your loved one with the setting sun. It is said that Koijigahama Beach along the cape was named after the legend that a noble man and woman fled from the capital to this peninsula because of their love. It is also famous for being the setting for Shimazaki Toson's lyric poems. I used the accommodation subsidy from Aichi Prefecture to go to a small inn where you can enjoy hot springs and cuisine on the Atsumi Peninsula. The room is an old Japanese-style room, but the dinner with lots of fresh seafood is amazing. Of course, there is also a natural hot spring. The food is quite filling, as you can see in the picture. The sashimi includes locally caught grouper and blackthroat seaperch. Using the subsidy, it was effectively 3,000 yen with two meals. Aichi Prefecture Irago Cape Koijigahama It's a little far from Nagoya, but it's a great place for a drive. Irago is a popular beach for surfers, and although the waves are rough, the ocean is beautiful. The wind here at Koijigahama is so strong that we couldn't make it to the lighthouse and had to turn back halfway. The specialty of Irago is the giant clams. This white-walled lighthouse, built at the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula, overlooks the black currents of the Pacific Ocean and the deep blue calm of Mikawa Bay. As opposed to the Kawashima Lighthouse which shines its light out over the open seas, the Cape Irago Lighthouse was built in 1929 to guide shipping lanes in coastal waters, and has continued to protect passing vessels ever since. Such lighthouses built at the water's edge are rare in Japan, and in 1998 it was selected as one of the Best 50 Lighthouses of Japan, as a memorial to the proud role it has played, and today stands as a tourist symbol of the Irago Cape. #triplocal #triplocal

#EnjoyJapan #trip In the slightly chilly season when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, I took a solo trip across the Atsumi Peninsula, Chita Peninsula, and Ise Bay from Nagoya down towards Irako, then took a boat from Irako to Toba, then Toba to Ise, then Ise to Kuwana, and finally reached my goal in Nagoya. I spent about two weeks enjoying the seasons, enjoying the nature, enjoying the cherry blossoms, and sometimes my feet hurt from walking too much... But the sense of accomplishment when I reached the goal brought me to tears. I highly recommend it. Please give it a try!

I went mountain climbing on the Atsumi Peninsula! The mountains on the Atsumi Peninsula are low in altitude so you can climb them without snow even in winter! It was a luxury to be able to see magnificent views of the sea, mountains, and the local specialty cabbage! The weather was nice and we could even see Nagoya and Mie prefectures! The 5-hour traverse was a great workout!
