For my first hot spring trip in a while, I went to Achi Village. The inn is called Oyado Sansui. It is basically accessible by car, but there is also a plan with a shuttle bus from Nagoya Station. This time, I easily traveled there and back by bus. The hot spring has a large communal bath and an open-air bath, which are separate for men and women. They switch depending on the time. The open-air bath while watching the starry sky is the best. There is also a foot bath near the lobby that you can use freely, and it was very relaxing to look at the garden. It is a place so rich in nature that you can hear the frogs croaking at night. Both dinner and breakfast are made with seasonal ingredients and are delicious. This is my second time here, but next time I would like to go when the peach blossoms are in bloom. There is a morning market just a short walk from Sansui Inn. It is easily accessible from other inns, so it was crowded with tourists. They even had handmade jams, apple juice, honey, and handmade colorful basket bags. The Achi River flows nearby, and you can hear the babbling of the river, so it's refreshing and cool to stroll around. Be careful, if you go after having breakfast from the inn, many shops will be closed. It is recommended to go early, as they won't sell out and are open. There are various accommodation plans at Oyado Sansui. I participated in the accommodation plan that includes cherry picking. There is a round trip bus from the inn to the cherry picking farm, and it takes about 7 minutes by bus. The farm here is the inn's own farm, and it is only for guests, so it is not crowded and you can spend a quiet time, which is recommended. The main variety was Sato Nishiki. After returning to the inn, I warmed up again in the inn's foot bath. After stopping by the morning market near the Sansui Inn, we decided to go for a walk around the Achi River. Achi Village is so quiet and beautiful that you can hear the babbling of the river even from afar. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn't see the stars, but we slept well and were able to get going early in the morning. On the way back, we bought some hot spring buns and ate them at the inn. It was a very satisfying morning walk.
