Wushan County didn't appear in many reviews or tourist blogs, but it should!!! It's easy to get to on the fast train from Chongqing and there are taxi's available at the station and in the town's. First up we went on the tourist boat through the three gorges, it took just under 2 hours and the views were amazing. (I'd recommend a few cold bottles of water for the boat). The boat then arrives at Dachang ancient town, where you can get tasty local treats and relax by the water. The tourist boat returns quite quickly (15/20 mins). We managed to take the locals boat back to Wushan as we wanted to explore a bit longer. Once back in Wushan town, there are so many choices, you can head to the mountain side temples, pagodas at the top of the peaks or grab a barrel of Pina colada, at what appeared to be the only non-ktv bar around. We opted for the mountain top pagoda for sunset and a barrel of coconut cocktail 🍹

Continued from the previous chapter. In order to wake up and admire the beauty of Kuimen, I checked in to Kuimen Hotel P2 last night. The Fengbao Fish at Sanheyuan Restaurant across from the hotel was quite interesting. This trip is a rare slow pace. In the morning, I leisurely strolled around Kuizhou Museum and Kuizhou Ancient City. The scenery of the Yangtze River is beautiful from any location P3. After lunch, I took a taxi to Xiaohongchuan Passenger Terminal. [Departure Time] Try to go early, there are no fixed seats. If you are worried about changes in time or boarding location, you can search for the ☎ number posted by other bloggers to find out in advance. [Scenery along the way] P4-P7 The Xiaohongchuan passes through Fengjie County, and the mountains on both sides of the Yangtze River gradually come into view. The boat sails into Qutang Gorge, and the steep cliffs on both sides soar into the clouds, with the river rushing through the canyon. Passing through Kuimen, you can see the pattern on the back of the ten-yuan banknote. The Xiaohongchuan stops at multiple stops along the way. Some local villagers carry bamboo baskets with fruits and vegetables, creating a strong atmosphere of life. [First Arrival in Wushan] After nearly 4 hours of sailing, the Xiaohongchuan finally arrived at Wushan Ancient City Wharf. Wushan County is surrounded by mountains and rivers. The Wushan Yangtze River Bridge in the distance spans the river, connecting the cities on both sides. Even without any travel tips, you will be attracted by Shennv Avenue P8, because one glance makes you feel a little sore. After getting off the boat, there were many motorcycle taxi drivers shouting at the dock P9. Whether it was two people traveling together or even travelers with suitcases, the drivers had ways to take them away, but they turned a blind eye to me and my husband. Don't ask why, it's impolite 🙄. [Wushan Night View] I wanted to go to the opposite side of the main urban area to see the night view of Wushan, so I took a taxi and told the driver my intention. The car drove along Ningjiang Avenue. As the perspective of the main urban area gradually straightened, I inadvertently turned my head to look out the car window. In an instant, the night view of Wushan crashed into my sight without warning. The buildings of varying heights outlined the colorful outline of the entire city under the illumination of the lights. The mountains in the distance were looming in the night, blending with the city lights. The beauty between movement and stillness was unforgettable. [18 Years Ago] During the summer vacation of 2007, my mother and I completed a river, sea, land, and air trip that spanned 4 provinces and 6 cities. One section was a riverboat from Yichang to Fengjie. At that time, there were no detailed travel tips. I bought a ticket when I saw one at the ticket office. Later, when I saw other ships on the river, I realized the difference between cruise ships and passenger ships. I remember my mother wondering why this third-class cabin was so much cheaper than the Bohai Ferry. These two tickets became the key to unlocking an unknown journey. When the cockroach family appeared collectively, this journey was destined to be unforgettable forever. Their agile figures moving between the table and the bed became a lingering childhood shadow on that sultry summer night, and I also experienced my first all-nighter in life. The friendly captain let me sit on the bench in front of the cockpit to watch the Three Gorges ship lock. I went back to my third-class cabin once in the middle, and the cockroaches were still busy, so I went to the stern to greet the dawn. Looking at the high mountains on both sides of the river with the morning mist still lingering, the river breeze gently caressed my face. I was the only audience in this visual feast starring the mountains and rivers, and I was also the lucky traveler chosen by the misty gorges.
