Visiting the Virgin of the Rock was a truly astonishing experience. The natural beauty of the island and the stunning 17th-century Baroque church were breathtaking. A meeting of history and art with a unique charm. From the outside, the temple offers a view of the beautiful blue sea of Kotor Bay. The landscape surrounding the temple was amazing. The paintings and statues attached inside the church remind us of the depth of tradition and faith. My visit was an unforgettable spiritual experience.

The Our Lady of the Rocks in Kotor, Montenegro, originally a rock in the sea, is expanded every year on July 22nd by local residents who throw rocks into the sea from their fishing boats, gradually forming a rock fortress. The tradition of throwing rocks into the sea is still ongoing. In 1632, a Roman Catholic church was established on the island, building a church of Our Lady, which is said to protect fishermen when they go out to sea.
