It's also a designated national important cultural property! When you reach the top, there are lots of charms on the ceiling...!! ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿ From the parking lot to where the shrine is, you just have to go up the stairs🫰🏻 If you're not confident in your legs or stamina, don't hesitate to take the slope🫶🏻 It's a paid ride, but it's only 250 yen, so it's great value for money🌟 It's a breeze to climb, so I highly recommend it for midsummer sightseeing💪🏻 ＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿ There are many paid parking lots nearby🚐 I parked in the closest one, but it came with a 500 yen voucher that could be used at a shop halfway up the mountain. Tsuruga Castle is located in Aizu-Wakamatsu, Fukushima. This castle has been built since 1384. The red colored roof tiles are the signature of this castle. The castle can be conveniently reached from Aizu-Wakamatsu station. We went here as a part of our 5-day Tohoku trip. We purchased the JR East Tohoku Pass that cost us 20,000. The E-Rosoku Festival, which I was looking forward to, was cancelled due to the effects of COVID-19, but I went there in early February hoping to see the red-tiled Tsuruga Castle being made up in white. The castle is beautiful from any angle. The day after it snows, it is especially beautiful when combined with the frost-covered trees, but the day before I went, the weather was warm and the snow had melted. But it is still this beautiful. You can buy some rice malt sweet sake at a shop near the main citadel, and sit on a bench while drinking it and looking at the castle, spending a luxurious time. I'm looking forward to seeing the cherry blossoms in spring. I also recommend seeing the autumn leaves. #Christmas #WinterTrip

Sazaedo is located near Mt. Imoriyama. The reason why it looks like a turban is because of its shape. It is a wooden building with a spiral staircase, and you walk a different route on the way there and back. I was surprised at how labyrinthine it is. There is also a shrine near Sazaedo, and the leaves have fallen. I wonder if the autumn leaves will be over soon. #Autumn leaves #Outdoors

I went to Mt. Imoriyama first thing in the morning. The autumn leaves were beautiful, but the stairs were tough! There is a paid slope next to the stairs so you can avoid them. Mt. Imoriyama is the place where the Byakkotai rushed in at the end, saw the smoke signals rising from Tsuruga Castle, and then committed seppuku. Takinoyu, Higashiyama Onsen, located in Aizuwakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture. It is said that this hot spring was also used as a therapeutic spring for the famous Hijikata Toshizo. The hot spring is an alkaline spring, so it is smooth and silky. Due to the hotel's circumstances, the meal was canceled that day, so we were upgraded to a room. The Showa Nostalgia Museum in Fukushima was created by renovating a storehouse. The first floor is a shop selling nostalgic goods, and the second floor is a recreation of a Showa-era streetscape. Admission is 200 yen. If you climb the steep wooden stairs to the second floor, you'll find a nostalgic Showa-era street corner! I stayed at Onyado Toho in Aizu Higashiyama Onsen ♨️ The hotel is located on a hilltop, and the hot springs with their spectacular views are amazing ✨ It's a shame that I can't post photos of the hot springs, but it was stylish and the views were great 😆👍 In addition, the two types of open-air observation baths, "Sora no Yu" and "Tanagumo no Yu," are switched between men and women at night and in the morning, so you can enjoy both. Nanukamachi Station, where the JR Tadami Line departs and arrives. It is the closest station to Nanukamachi Street, which is popular among tourists in the center of Aizuwakamatsu, but it is an unmanned station! There are no station staff and no ticket vending machines, so you have to get a boarding station certificate and pay later. It's kind of like a bus ticket! However, even though the station is unmanned, the "Aizu Furusato Antenna Shop Station Cafe" is located inside the station building, and there are staff members, so it was bustling😆 The shop has lots of souvenirs that tourists will love, such as local specialties and miscellaneous goods! In the Edo period, a hall called Sando was built in various places, based on the Buddhist etiquette of right-handed three-handed three times around the right. Among the existing Sando-do Hall, it is said that the uniqueness of this Sazaedo Hall is outstanding. It is currently designated as an important national cultural property.

#Spring0yentrip I didn't have time to go to Tsuruga Castle in Aizuwakamatsu, but I spent some time feeling the history in a quiet place. The first place I visited was Sazaedo. It is a strangely twisted wooden building, and as I climbed the stairs I felt like I was going back in time. It was quieter inside than I had imagined, and the space where only the smell of wood and the sound of footsteps echoed was very impressive. Then at the Byakkotai Museum, I really felt the weight of Aizu's history. Learning about the background of how young lives were at the mercy of the times, I felt a little closer to the pride and feelings of the people of this land. It was a memorable trip that felt more profound than lively.
