Ono - The town of abacus
Ono City, which boasts the highest abacus production in Japan, is home to the Traditional Industry Hall, where you can see a five-story pagoda and a castle made from abacus beads.
If you look closely, you can see that they are made from abacus beads, which is interesting.

[Ono City] This is a must-see abacus museum
I was impressed by the works that were created using abacus beads, such as Himeji Castle, Mikoshi, and the Five-Story Pagoda of Horyuji Temple. There are also exhibits on the history of the abacus, as well as old abacus that were actually used and cram school signs, which are sure to get anyone who has studied abacus excited. There are also curtains such as rosary curtains that were found in every home during the Showa era. If you want to learn about Banshu abacus, a nationally designated traditional craft, I recommend the Ono City Traditional Industry Hall.

Ono City: The Abacus Town of Banshu Ono
The Banshu abacus is a traditional craft designated by the country. It is said that some students play the abacus under the giant monument with combinations like 'goukaku' (success in exams) 5・9 or 'sakura saku' (cherry blossoms bloom, indicating success in exams) 3・9・0・3・9. Depending on the play on words, there are also combinations like 'shoubu' (match or contest) 4・0・2 or 'tousen' (lottery win) 10・1000, so it might be interesting to learn these phrases from the official website when visiting Ono. Next to the Ono Chamber of Commerce and Industry, there is the Ono City Traditional Industry Hall where you can enjoy the Abacus Museum for free, which is also recommended.
Name: Giant Abacus 'Prayer Abacus'
1. Chant 'Negaimashite' and lift all five beads.
2. Embed your wish into numbers and play the abacus beads.
3. Stroke the large abacus beads.
