One Tree Hill, located in Cornwall Park, south of Auckland, New Zealand. John Logan Campbell was born in Edinburgh in 1817 and immigrated to Auckland in 1840. Initially operating on the beach, he later built warehouses, did banking, loans and agency business, and had a great influence in business and social life. He was once a member of the regional and New Zealand parliaments. In 1853, he donated 1,000 acres of land to establish and donate One Tree Hill Park. John Logan Campbell admired and admired the perseverance and achievements of the Maori people, and also predicted that the new generation of New Zealanders will replace the Maori status. He intended to donate to build a spire, which took many years. The spire was completed in 1940 and unveiled in 1948. The host was a Maori leader.
