Rhodes: the Walls of the Old Town
Rhodes Old Walls are a stunning example of medieval fortification, built in the 14th century by the Knights Hospitaller to protect the city from invasions.
The walls stretch over 4 kilometers and encircle the old town of Rhodes, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The walls feature impressive gates, towers, and battlements that offer breathtaking views of the city and the sea. Visitors can take a leisurely walk along the walls and marvel at their engineering and construction.
The Old Walls are an iconic symbol of Rhodes and a must-see for anyone visiting the island

Rhodes Old Town was the highlight of my spring vacation! 🏰 Located on the enchanting island of Rhodes, Greece, this medieval gem offered a step back in time to a world of cobblestone streets, ancient walls, and charming alleyways. Best of all, there was no entrance fee to explore this historical treasure! As I wandered through the narrow streets, I was captivated by the grandeur of the Palace of the Grand Master, the intricate architecture of the Street of the Knights, and the bustling atmosphere of the Hippocrates Square. #MedievalMagic and #HistoricCharm at every turn! Nearby, the picturesque Mandraki Harbor beckoned with its iconic windmills, scenic waterfront cafes, and the imposing Fort of St. Nicholas. Plus, don't miss the chance to visit the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, where you can delve deeper into the island's rich history and culture. Rhodes Old Town stole my heart with its beauty and charm, leaving me with memories to treasure forever! 🇬🇷🌿
