Our summer time in Riga, Latvia
Riga is the capital city of Latvia and has one of the best medieval architecture in the world. The entire city has approximately 700.000 people, it's quiet and best for holiday getaway. The old buildings located in old town have unique charme makes you take off your camera and snap them.
Latvians are kind people and very welcoming. You don't have to know their language in order to move around because most of their young people know how to speak English and they are always willing to help if you ask.

Not many people know about this little beautiful country. But this is Latvia. The capital city, Riga, offers an exceptional classical cotemporary architectural design. As local here, my friend took me to the city sightseeing and I can’t get enough of walking around the city. Absolutely a beautiful country indeed. #merrychristmas

Riga: The heart of the Baltic Sea, where history meets modernity.
Riga, an ancient city on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea, is the heart and soul of Latvia🏙️💖. As an important member of the Hanseatic League, Riga not only carries a rich historical and cultural heritage, but also attracts tourists from all over the world to explore with its unique architectural style and strong artistic atmosphere.
Walking on the streets of Riga, it seems to travel back to medieval Europe. In the old town (Vecrīga) paved with cobblestones, Gothic, Renaissance and Art Nouveau-style buildings are scattered, and each building tells its own story🏰🎨. The towering church spires point to the sky, and the colorful houses shine in the sun, making people involuntarily slow down and taste this historical precipitation and beauty.
Speaking of Riga, it is necessary to mention its famous canal system. The Riga Canal is like a silver ribbon, passing through the city, closely connecting the old city and the new city. Taking a cruise on the canal, the picturesque scenery on both sides unfolds, ancient buildings, busy docks, and leisurely citizens, forming a vivid city scroll🛥️🖼️.
In addition to history and culture, Riga is also a vibrant modern city. In the new city, modern high-rise buildings rise from the ground, shopping centers, restaurants, cafes, etc. are available, providing tourists with a wealth of shopping and entertainment options🛍️☕️. Riga's artistic atmosphere is also very strong, from street graffiti to art gallery exhibitions, from concerts to drama performances, every corner exudes the charm of art🎵🎭.
In addition, Riga is a paradise for food. There are traditional Latvian dishes such as stewed meat and sauerkraut, as well as gourmet dishes from all over the world. In Riga's restaurant, you can taste authentic European flavors, and you can also try some novel and unique creative dishes🍲🍴.
Riga is a charming city. It has both ancient historical and cultural heritage and modern urban style; it has both a strong artistic atmosphere and a rich food experience. Here, you can feel the enthusiasm and hospitality of the Latvian people, and you can also appreciate the unique charm and style of this city🌍✨.

Riga, Latvia is place full of history and good food. I recommend the old town to visit as it has the most history. You can visit many statues and buildings that are from the Cold War era. make sure you try to find a place that serves authentic Latvian food.

The ancient city of Riga, which was selected as the United Nations World Natural Heritage Site in 1971, has a history of more than 800 years. It is small in size and historical sites and buildings are well preserved. The whole city is listed as a world cultural heritage. It is not a name for the world. It is a city suitable for measuring with your feet. Walking on a Gothic-style street will make you mistakenly think that you are in a romantic fairy tale world. In the 19th century, Riga became an important economic center. The suburbs of medieval towns have been built, and the style has changed from the beginning of classical wooden architecture to the "new art" style. Riga is seen as the center of Europe's finest Art Nouveau architectural style. The Riga historical monument includes six famous sites. The ruins include the heart of the ancient Riga, the brick dome, St. Peter's Church, St. Jacob's Church, St. John's Church, the Powder Tower, the Swedish Gate, the Riga Castle, and many museums and art galleries. Dome Church - Santa Maria Cathedral is a bishop's cathedral. This famous historic monument has become a symbol of the ancient town of Riga. It has been rebuilt several times over the past few centuries, so the current building contains many different architectural elements. Bishop Albert began building new cathedrals and monasteries in 1211, and the first phase of construction in 1270 was completed. The spire of the Dome Church was once the tallest spire in the city, 140 meters high.
