A peaceful and small city with lovely people. Through my 5 days here, I saw little Asian faces around. You’re surrounded by mostly locals or folks from their neighbouring countries. People are curious, often asking where we’re from but kind in their words and genuine to ask how we find their country. The old town area is a nice walk to explore, not over crowded. You can easily spend a full day walking and enjoying a cup of traditional tea.

Vibes here are like Istanbul, near the Istiklol street. So calm but in the same time very lively, with local citizens who's hanging their close on the balcony. Was really cool to walk slowly, without any rush, listening to local music, speach, and talking to... cats! Yes, there're lots of cats, like in Istanbul. Or maybe more, I don't know. So, what can I say, this place definitely worth to visit.

📅 Itinerary : Only Baku City Day1: -Landed in Baku airport, currency exchange available, Sim card available (35AZN was the cheapest) - Booked Bolt taxi (since it was late night), Airport bus is also available. Taxi cost around 9.3 AZN - checked in at hotel, wake up at 6:30 and walked in the old city. Best to take some good photos in the morning without crowd. Most of the attractions opening at 10-11 am. Walking was the best option - visited maiden tower - walked through the alley of old city - shirvanshah palace - walked to the Carpet museum - walked to the Mini Venice, stay for dawn and get good pictures of flame tower after lighting up. Day2: took the metro from Icherisheher metro (metro card 2 azn and recharged for 3 azn) to Nariman Narimanov station - then walked to the Hyderabad Aliyev center. - took some good photos. And took ticket for the exhibition 15azn - exhibitions were good. Suggestion: Scrap art by Dotun Popula. Which was good as per my own choice. - walked through the alley of old cities, got some souvenirs. 🏨 Accommodation : Hillside City Center Hotel : This accommodation is near to the Icherisheher metro station. 🍴 Food Recommendations : most of the time i tried Shawarma or Donur from street vendors. Choose Hygenic stores. - also i have tried Rain Restaurant near to the Nariman Narimanov metro station. Which was good. 📌 Tips : 1. in the city there are good exchange rate for the currency exchange. If you stay more days, change it from the city. 2. Cheap sim card options available in the city. If you don’t need connectivity from Airport to City ride, better option to take from the city. 3. There are many tour options are available in the city for the tour packages to Gobustan and mud volcanos and so on. ( since my plan was only for the city, I have stayed in the city and explored the city attractions and city life)
