Okurayama Sky Jumping Arena is a standard ski jumping venue located in Miyano Mori, Chuo-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido, Japan. place. The venue can accommodate about 30,000 spectators. It was originally a ski jumping arena donated to Sapporo by the second-generation president of the Okura chaebol and the founder of Okura Hotel, Baron Kiqiro Okura. Therefore, it was named "Okura Ski Jumping Stadium" when it was officially opened in 1932. Later, it was renamed "Okura Mountain Ski Jumping Arena" when it was renovated for the 1972 Winter Olympics. From the 307 meters above sea level, you can see a panoramic view of Sapporo city district and Ishikari Plain, and at the rear right, you can see the "Miyano Mori Ski Jumping Arena" where the 70-meter ski jump is held. In winter, it is a snow-covered "snow-white" scenery. On days without competition, visitors can stand in the "Looking Lounge" behind the jumping site to simulate the sight of ski jumpers when they take off. In summer, watering is used to ensure ski jumping, so in this all-weather competition, summer sometimes sees ski jumpers training.
