[Kyoto Prefecture] Okazaki Park, a relaxing tourist spot
Part of the site of the 4th Domestic Industrial Exposition held in 1895 was designated as a park, and this park, located near Heian Shrine, was opened on July 8, 1904.
Surrounding facilities include ROHM Theatre Kyoto, the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, Kyocera Museum of Art, Kyoto Prefectural Library, Kyoto City Zoo, Lake Biwa Canal, and the Incline, and the surrounding area is called Okazaki Park. The large torii gate is one of the park's symbols.
Events such as free markets and flea markets are held here on an irregular basis.
