There is a souvenir shop selling some castle key chains here, have very big park and public toilets. We are lucky can see a early cherry blossoms here on March first week.

On the edge of the narrow platform, take a slow walk and you can see the beautiful scenery of Sagami Bay and the distant islands. Odawara Castle is actually very interesting inside. The combination of water and city is a contrast that I really like. The weather could not be better that day, and the reflection of the blue sky was strong and bright in the water and the Zhuqiao on the water surface. Small bridges and water surfaces can be seen everywhere in the courtyard, which is perfect for a sunny walk.

We visited the Odawara castle on the 7th of April 2025. The cheery blossoms was in full bloom and it was sunny for a while tho days get wet after few hours later. It was probably one of our highlight of Hakone trip. The park itself is v nice but don’t think its wheelchair friendly. Lots of steps. Toilet is available but not as clean as usual japanese standard. Due to rain we stayed at the teahouse for about 1,5 hours, it provides us with good food and sweets. There is also children playground but as it was wet we didnt visited. Overall a must visit when one happened to be in Odawara.

It's super cheap! 🫢 Adults can ride the miniature train for 80 yen😂 Battery cars (like go-karts) and small moving toys like those found in arcades You can ride them for a bargain price, so your kids will be delighted✌️ 📍Miyuki Beach/Tunnel leading to the sea The beach here is more like rocks than sand! Everyone had fun having a BBQ⛱ A bar is open during the swimming season🍺✨ And the one I really recommend is [Tunnel leading to the sea] Go through the tunnel and you'll see the sea! I think I visited it after the major renovations of the Heisei era were completed. And it seems like in March, plum blossoms and fragrances, and in April, about 180 cherry blossoms can be enjoyed, and the cherry blossom festival will be held. 1. I have been to Kamakura several times. It is not a place for youthful memories. There are Chinese tourists everywhere, and they are very annoying. They don't queue and they talk loudly. 2. Odawara is very close to Kamakura, but the water is very clean. Maybe it's because there are stones instead of sand here, and there are no branches brought by the sea. 3. After exiting the station, turn right and walk a little bit, and you will see the foot bath on the 14th floor. You can enjoy the sea view while soaking your feet. It is very comfortable. But it was not very hot on the day I went there. I prefer it to be hotter. After the foot bath, I had fried pork cutlet and fried oyster set meal downstairs. It was very delicious. 4. The scenery is better if you enter Odawara Castle from the south gate. You need a ticket to go up to the main tower, but the lower floors are free. I didn't go up because my feet hurt. I always think there is nothing to see in the main tower, but this one has a viewing platform outside, facing the sea. 5. There is more than one "door to the sea." It is mainly a passage that can be closed to prevent tsunamis. When you walk out of it, you will suddenly see the sea. The sea here is bluer than Kamakura or Atami. It is great to buy some food and drinks and watch the sea here. But there is a residential area nearby, and there is no restroom (at least I didn't find one). 6. The area is not big. Half a day is enough. You can go to Atami or Hakone in the afternoon. As for transportation

This is probably the branch with the most sumptuous breakfast I have ever eaten. The equipment is all new and it is close to the station. The living facilities nearby are very good. This time I went to Owakudani and Lake Ashi for a visit and stayed at Odawara Station. This Toyoko Inn has the best location and is super convenient. Odawara Castle, the station, and the busiest shopping street are all within 5 minutes away. Excellent value for money.

Odawara Castle is a must-visit for its rich historical significance, stunning architecture, and beautiful surroundings. As a reconstructed feudal castle, it offers insight into Japan's samurai era with well-preserved artifacts and exhibits. The castle's impressive donjon, surrounded by cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant foliage in autumn, provides breathtaking views. A truly luxurious place with Odawara Castle, hydrangeas, and irises. The Odawara Castle Hydrangea and Iris Festival is currently being held. 10,000 irises and 2,500 hydrangeas are in full bloom. There is a patch of wisteria at the gate of Odawara Castle (it probably blooms in mid-May). When we arrived on 5/3, there were only buds. There happened to be a grand festival going on inside, and there were armor costumes to try on (500 yen per costume per hour). It was very interesting and highly recommended to try it out. There is also a play area for children, with a small train, a rocking car, and small racing cars (the rocking car is 30 yen per time, and the others are 80 yen per time). The children had a lot of fun.
