We went to see the azaleas in the large garden of the Yamano Hotel. In May, the entire area is covered with a carpet of about 3,000 azaleas of 84 varieties that have been planted since the days of Baron Iwasaki's villa. You can enjoy the contrast between Mt. Fuji and the azaleas from a spot near the entrance! By the way, there is a fee to enter the large garden of the Yamano Hotel during this season. It is located on the shores of Lake Ashi, so the lake also looks like a nice location. The rhododendrons were also in bloom, which was also beautiful. There is a small wisteria trellis, a church and many other things to see. The colorful and beautiful azaleas are soothing!

Staying at the Odakyu Yama-no Hotel was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. Located at the foot of Mount Oyama, the hotel is surrounded by nature and far from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a serene atmosphere. I posted a review, but my husband and I booked this hotel for two nights because we wanted to enjoy a relaxing stay. It's a historic space, and I don't mind the oldness, which I actually like. We booked breakfast and dinner, but they customized it for the two nights, so we were very satisfied with the content and quantity. It was also an adult birthday trip, but cake was an optional reservation, and the other birthday services were modest and homey, so it was just right (no need to sing loudly). We went to the observation deck, visited the Hakone Shrine next door, walked in the garden, had tea in the lounge, and enjoyed the hot springs in the morning and evening. The building of this hotel is completely Western style, facing the Lu Lake and built beside the mountain. Opening the window, you can see the beautiful Lu Lake. The hotel has a rhododendron garden with about 3,000 plants, a Western-style elegant and modern indoor environment, and a comfortable and leisurely outdoor hot spring, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists every year.
