Ziyuan Bajiaozhai, it takes about 2 hours to get there from Guilin city, so we stayed in Ziyuan the day before. The online price is CNY 118, including the slide down the mountain. Scenic area rating: 4A, altitude 818 meters. Famous attractions: Qunluo Guantian, Xiaolongyan, Longtouxiang, Eye Stone... The air in the mountains is very good, some places are not very easy to climb, so the elderly and children need to be careful. We, who were determined to challenge the highest peak, gave up climbing the highest peak because we felt tired, haha. Although it's a bit of a pity, we also felt the majesty, strangeness, danger, steepness, beauty, and seclusion of Bajiaozhai, and couldn't help but sigh at the wonders of nature, which is truly unique. I remember when I first came to Bajiaozhai in early 2019, I saw horses carrying stones up the mountain to build, and I felt a little tired when I thought about climbing the mountain lightly, and I felt a little uncomfortable. Gen Mountain - Have you been there? The Gen Mountain scenic area is located within the territory of Xinning County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. Friends who drive here can park their cars in the free parking lot inside the scenic area. A natural 'Danxia landform museum, the soul of Danxia, a national treasure, a national 5A scenic area'. The entire Liangshan scenic area includes: Bajiaozhai, Tianyi Lane, Chili Peak, Fuyi River, and Zixia Cave - five major scenic areas, and you can drive to the entrance of each scenic area. There are A/B lines for tickets, and you can choose according to your own time and plan. The ticket is valid for three days starting from entering the first scenic area, so there's no need to worry about not being able to finish in one day. Personal suggestion: Allocate at least two days. The scenic area is open from 07:00 to 17:30. It is recommended to first admire Chili Peak from a distance and then climb Camel Peak, where you can see a dense landscape of Danxia peaks. Camel Peak is famously steep, and those who like excitement must give it a try. The narrowest part of Tianyi Lane is only 30 centimeters, and when you enter and look up, you only see a slit of light, with Danxia cliffs visible everywhere. Bajiaozhai is on the border of Hunan and Guangxi, with one side in Xinning, Hunan, and the other in Ziyuan, Guangxi. Climbing Bajiaozhai allows you to set foot in two provinces at once. Located on Langshan Avenue in Xinning County, Shaoyang City, Hunan, it connects with the Bajiaozhai Scenic Area in Ziyuan County, Guangxi (Bajiaozhai is partly in Xinning County and partly in Ziyuan County), comprising Tianyi Lane, Chili Peak, Fuyi River, Zixia Cave, and Tiansheng Bridge, six major scenic areas, and 18 scenic spots, with over 500 important sites discovered and named, including three major caves and a primeval forest, belonging to the typical Danxia landform, hailed as the 'Soul of Danxia, National Treasure', it is a rare eco-friendly natural landscape area. This place is also the filming location for the TV series 'Eternal Love'. Tour Route: With limited time, we only visited Bajiaozhai and Chili Peak, Bajiaozhai is the essence~ Climbing up Bajiaozhai is worth the ticket price! · 🎫 Ticket: 136 yuan (including Bajiaozhai, Tianyi Lane, Chili Peak, Zixia Cave), it's cheaper to buy online. · Transportation: Self-driving is recommended. The scenic area is vast, and private cars can also be driven inside. The mountaintop is the border between Hunan and Guangxi provinces, remember to take photos and check in. 'Whale Making Waves' is spectacular, if you want to capture the sea of clouds, you need to race against time and weather. 'Dragon Head Incense' is very thrilling, watching people walking back and forth on the cliff edges to light incense is nerve-wracking. If you want to visit multiple scenic spots, it's recommended to stay near or within the scenic area. The cable car is still under repair, currently, you can only hike up and down the mountain, which is a test of physical fitness. Remember to bring a walking stick. There is a significant temperature difference between the mountaintop and the foot of the mountain, remember to bring a coat, and also clothes to change into after sweating. Bring a hat, sunglasses, do good sun protection, and mosquito prevention. As the weather gets warmer, mosquitoes start to appear, luckily I brought a mosquito repellent bracelet and mosquito repellent spray! The mosquito repellent bracelet I wore is nice, aesthetically pleasing, fully waterproof, mild and non-irritating, with each replaceable chip lasting up to a month. The mosquito repellent spray is also very effective, smells good, and does not contain alcohol, convenient to carry, a must-have for the outdoors.

Guilin not promoting this place is a bit of a pity, such spectacular scenery is worth the trip no matter how far! Location: Bajiaozhai Scenic Area in Ziyuan County, Guilin. Attraction: This is a scenic spot that spans two provinces. On the Guangxi side, it's called Bajiaozhai Scenic Area, and on the Hunan side, it's called Shishan Scenic Area (including Bajiaozhai, Tianyi Alley, Zixia Cave, and Chili Peak). Opening hours: 07:30-17:30. Ticket price: The ticketing for this spot is a bit complicated. There is only one attraction on the Guilin side that costs 100, while a combo ticket for several attractions on the Hunan side costs 136, and they are not interchangeable. For high-speed rail in the Guangxi direction, get off at Guilin North Station, and there is a bus directly to the scenic area from Guilin North Bus Station around 9:00 am, returning at about 16:30 in the afternoon. In the Hunan direction, you can take the high-speed rail to Dongkou Station, and then take a taxi from there. Accommodation: In the Guangxi direction, there are fewer homestays at the foot of the mountain, scattered and generally average due to its remoteness, but the advantage is that it's close to the mountain entrance. In the Hunan direction, the scenic area is larger, so there are relatively more choices, with many available from a few kilometers outside the scenic area all the way to the town. Climbing from the Hunan side doesn't offer much scenery, but the advantage is that there are many shady forests. If you plan to play for two days, it's suggested to climb from the Hunan side, enjoy the views at the top, and if you have the energy, go down a distance towards the Guangxi side, then return the same way to Hunan. For self-driving, you can't climb up one side and descend the other; you have to return the same way, otherwise, after descending, you'll need to drive an extra 20 or so kilometers of mountain roads to get back to your original location, and the key point is that there's no transportation back, and your car is still waiting for you on the other side. If you're going back and forth on the same day, just visit Bajiaozhai, climbing up and down from the Guangxi side. If you have two days, climb from the Hunan side, go down a distance towards the Guangxi side from the mountain top to get a closer look at 'Group of Snails Gazing at the Sky', then return the same way, which is quite tiring. Experience: The transportation is not very convenient, the scenery is good, the location is a bit remote, and perhaps because it's so remote, not many people come here. I encountered less than ten people in the entire scenic area, but it's definitely worth promoting vigorously.
