Through the Storm: A Windy Evening Above Warsaw's Cityscape
#cityscape #100waysoftravel #poland #warsaw
We went to the Palace of Culture and Science observation deck on a cold, windy, and rainy evening. Located on the 30th floor, 114 meters above ground, it offers the best panoramic view of Warsaw’s expansive cityscape. The moment we stepped outside, the gusts of wind howled through the railings, and the rain lashed against the glass, but the sight below was captivating. The city stretched out in every direction, its streets illuminated by shimmering streetlights and passing cars. Iconic landmarks, like the Royal Castle and the Vistula River, appeared faint through the haze, their beauty softened by the drizzle. Despite the biting cold, the vibrant energy of the city pulsed beneath us, blending modern skyscrapers with historic architecture. The turbulent weather gave the skyline a moody, almost cinematic quality, with the twinkling lights reflecting off the wet rooftops. It was an unforgettable view, capturing the essence of Warsaw—a city where history and modernity coexist against the backdrop of gloomy skies.
