In the early morning, I boarded the ferry to Nokonoshima once again. This island showcases different sceneries throughout the four seasons, and today's sunlight made the sea sparkle with shimmering waves. I sat down at an old tea house on the island, ordered a cup of matcha, and looked out at the distant sea through the wooden window, feeling the serene beauty of the island. As night fell, I returned to the city and headed to Fukuoka's most iconic night scene—Nakasu Yatai. This street of food stalls along the Naka River is filled with various local delicacies. I randomly chose a small shop, sat on a low wooden stool, and ordered a steaming bowl of Hakata ramen. The rich tonkotsu broth warmed my heart in the night. The owner skillfully flipped the yakitori on the iron plate, and the diners raised their glasses and chatted merrily. This lively and warm atmosphere is the most charming aspect of Fukuoka's night.

Fukuoka is a truly amazing city for travel! With both mountains and sea, delicious food and fun things to do, I'm sharing my three-day Fukuoka itinerary with you today. Save it now~ Day 1: Coastal Charm Early in the morning, take the first bus to Itoshima's Futamigaura to start a beautiful day. The seascape here is stunning. Walk back slowly along the bus route, enjoying the sea breeze and the scenery along the way. It's incredibly refreshing. For lunch, savor the local seafood at Kaisendo. It's fresh and delicious. In the afternoon, move to Palm Beach, find a spot to sit down, and enjoy the leisurely time while feeling the sea breeze. If you still have energy, the swing at the nursery school station is also a good place to check in, but we missed it because we ate too much. Return to Fukuoka city in the afternoon and check in at Boss.E.ZO next to the PayPay Dome. There's a super long slide on the top floor, which is super fun. You must try it! When you're tired of playing, walk along the seaside to Momochi Seaside Park, stroll along the beach, and feel the charm of the sea. Then head to Fukuoka Tower, where you can buy some local specialties and take photos to create lasting memories. In the evening, wander through Tenjin Underground Shopping Center and Parco to experience Fukuoka's lively atmosphere. Finally, have dinner at an izakaya near the hotel and taste the local izakaya cuisine. Day 2: In-depth City Exploration On the second day, buy a one-day subway pass and start your exploration of the city. The first stop is Ohori Park, where you can check in at the iconic giant pumpkin sculpture and visit the art museum to experience the artistic atmosphere. Take the subway from Ohori Park to Hakata. Walk from Sennen-no Mon to Kushida Shrine's "Big Mouth" and the shopping street, browse the unique shops, and experience the local customs. At Canal City Hakata, we were attracted by the Donguri Republic (Ghibli merchandise store) and couldn't resist buying some souvenirs. Everything inside is super cute! For lunch, of course, we had to have Ichiran Ramen. The rich broth and chewy noodles are unforgettable. After the ramen, walk to Hankyu Department Store for a cup of coffee and enjoy a moment of tranquility. Our original itinerary ended here, but we decided to go to Nokonoshima Island on a whim. Since we hadn't done any prior research, we went directly to the observation deck after going up the mountain. Unexpectedly, there was almost no one there, and the scenery was breathtaking. On the way down, we were too lazy to wait for the bus, so we chose to walk back to the ferry. Along the way, it was quiet, and only the occasional passing truck reminded us that we weren't on a deserted island. In the evening, we tried Motsunabe near the hotel, and it was quite good. It was interesting to hear the old Japanese man at the next table reminisce about the Showa era while we were eating. After dinner, we went to a drugstore to shop, but be careful of the sales assistants. I was persuaded by two sales assistants, one Chinese and one Japanese, to buy four medicated patches. I also impulsively bought a made-in-China Maneki-neko toy, which was twice as expensive as on Taobao. Day 3: Dazaifu Trip There was no specific theme for the third day. In the morning, we went to Yakuin for a stroll, but unfortunately, we arrived too early, and many shops didn't open until 11:00, so we had to leave with regret. After checking out of the hotel, we went straight to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The place was full of Korean and Chinese tourists. We checked in at the shrine, but didn't go to the Kyushu National Museum due to time constraints. After coming down the mountain, we had tonkatsu for lunch and then headed to the airport. While waiting for our flight, we met a doctoral student from Kyushu University who introduced many attractions to me. I wrote them all down and will definitely visit them next time I come to Fukuoka. Although Fukuoka's cultural landscape may not be as impressive as Tokyo or Osaka, for me, it has mountains, sea, delicious food, and fun activities, which is enough. We spent a day on this island in Fukuoka. We took a bus to the port and bought a round-trip ticket. The ferry was very large, and you can also drive here. The island is quite large. Once you arrive on the island, it is recommended to take a bus to the terminal, which is a paid island park. Made it happen to a day trip to Nokonoshima Island , so called flowers island , just 10 mins ferry from Fukuoka main land. Wake up , have a decent breakfast and took a bus from Hakata bus terminal to Noko ferry terminal. Can take bus no, 300/301/302/303 from bus stop A and just enjoy the whole beautiful flower city Hakata until the route end , so you don’t need to worries for the wrong stop 🤭🤭 and it cost me 440 ¥. Then bought ferry 🎫 two way is 460¥, and every 10-15mins intervals in the morning. Just 10mins ferry ride. And once you get down , take a island bus to the end of the island ( can use your IC card - 260¥) and start explore the beautiful island . And you need to purchase additional entrance feels 1200¥ to yoranosaki park ( those with beautiful flowers all seasons ). Don’t worry about , I don’t know how to go , where should I start, what bus to take , Google will give you all the answers and ask your surroundings and be positive and take it easy .
