[Tokyo/Nipponbashi Cave] A place you'll want to visit in the hot summer
Nippara Limestone Cave
Nippara Limestone Cave in Okutama
When you go down the stairs, you will find a ticket machine, and beyond that is the entrance.
This short distance already makes you feel like you are in a hidden place.
The entrance is surprisingly cold, but inside it is nice and cool.
It is the perfect place for a hot summer.
The highlight is a long and slender stalagmite that is about 2.5m long.
It is called "Kongojo" (a walking stick) because of its length.
The icicles hanging down are also overwhelming.
The lighting changes color, creating a fantastical effect.
You will feel like you are on an adventure!

[Mount Kawane] How about spending the summer in Okutama?
Mt. Kawanori can be reached by train and bus from the city center, so it's very popular with people who want to go mountain climbing for a day!
Even though the difference in altitude is nearly 1,000m, there are several courses, so even beginners can easily climb the mountain if accompanied by an experienced person.
Another famous spot on Mt. Kawanori is "Hyakuhironotaki" ◎
Seeing the waterfall, which has a drop of about 40m, up close is a spectacular sight! You can feel its power even through a photo!

[Okutama, Tokyo] Okutama's specialty, Heso Manjun
Heso Manju Souhonpo is a shop where you can enjoy steamed manju, a specialty of Okutama. Founded in 1952, it is said that people believed that if you eat heso manju and put in the effort, you will be successful!
Even one is filling and good for a light snack.
I also received a free gift 🙏✨

Okutama Glamping
We went glamping in Okutama! ⛰🍖
We stayed at the "Fureai Glamping & BBQ" venue. There were six of us, and the price was 15,600 yen per person!
Each tent had one large two-person bed and four futons lined up.
There were plenty of amenities, such as a hair dryer, mirror, and BBQ cooking utensils (tongs, knife, cutting board, scissors, etc.), and there was also an outlet inside the tent so you could charge your devices.
No large insects got into the tent (as long as you closed the entrance tightly), but small flying insects did get in, so be careful if you are worried about that⚠️
The shower rooms (2) and toilets were shared facilities.
We bought BBQ ingredients at the nearby Aeon Mall.
We also enjoyed fireworks at the glamping site. 🎆
At the Hibara Cave in Okutama, the inside of the cave was lit up and it was beautiful. The price was reasonable at 200 yen per person. However, inside the cave, it was cool at 10°C, and there were many steep stairs, so be careful.
At the Hikawa International Trout Fishing Area, you can enjoy trout fishing. Fishing rods were available for rent for 1800 yen per person. You can catch up to five rainbow trout, and you can even grill and eat them! ! It was very delicious 😋😋
I only caught one in about an hour and a half, but my friend caught four! ! 🐟Looking around, there were quite a few fish being caught even during the day.

[Tokyo, Okutama] Bonooriyama
I climbed "Bonooriyama" in Okutama, Tokyo ⛰
This time I started from the Hanno area!
If you start climbing from Hanno, you can see the streams on the side, so you can stretch out in relatively cool conditions even in the summer season!
This is a recommended route because you can see the various faces of the mountain ^_^

I went to "Akabeko" in Okutama, Tokyo.
Akabeko is on the first floor of the Arasawaya Inn.
Lunch costs around 1,000 yen.
In the evening, you can eat local specialties of Okutama and river fish!

[Tokyo, Okutama] Atago Shrine
I went to Atago Shrine in Okutama, Tokyo.
It's about a 5-minute walk from Okutama Station to the entrance of Atago Shrine.
From the entrance, there is a fairly steep slope. There are steep stone steps along the way, so if you're confident in your stamina, please try it!

[Tokyo Tourism] Popular abandoned spots in Tokyo!
The Okutama Ropeway Site is a popular abandoned spot in Tokyo.
Since the Okutama Lake Ropeway was discontinued in 1966 due to management issues, the wires, gondolas, and other facilities have been left as they were at the time.
This ropeway was discontinued after only four years. Even in the dilapidated station building, some traces of the original appearance remain, which gives you mixed feelings. And there was a rather eerie and solemn atmosphere...
If you want to feel cool at the end of summer, be sure to visit!

The impressive and impressive "Nippara Cave"
・About 90 minutes from Hachioji IC on National Route 411
・5 minutes by bus from "Nippara Cave"
Nippara Cave, one of the largest limestone caves in the Kanto region, is an essential spot for sightseeing in Nippara.
Shirai Kannon, the frog-shaped Gama Rock, and the illuminated limestone cave are very fantastic. There are many stalactites that are said to take 200 years to grow 3 cm, and you can feel the long time that has been spent there.
Okutama is also nearby, so you can enjoy sightseeing there as well. Why not stretch your legs on your day off and relax in nature?

Yayoi's Ok
Yayoi's Okutama, spring and fall
Fluttering cherry blossoms and snow
Flower viewing in spring, fireworks in summer, autumn leaves in fall, snow in winter
Feeling the four seasons with your skin and eyes is the ultimate luxury for the Japanese, scattered throughout the year.
Add seasonal local sake and fresh mountain delicacies to this and you're in luck, but sometimes nature plays tricks on us.
One of them is a feast of cherry blossoms and powdery snow.
When the blessings of the earth awaken the cherry blossoms, and a cold wave that happened to be left behind in the middle of the day descends, that miracle occurs.
The way the pure white world is tinged with a faint pink is reminiscent of a Japanese woman.
As soon as we step out of the cottage and onto the river, we are captivated by the beauty without even needing to put up an umbrella.
Even the ice particles that freeze our bodies are now precious.
This is a reverse adventure that makes us shiver in the extreme cold.
When the sun goes down, the girls hide in the darkness.
We come to our senses and make a fire.
To warm our chilled bodies instantly.
This is the beginning of a BBQ. [The body expands], [Que serasera], [Whatever will be, will be]. In other words, it is a symbol of freedom in the great outdoors.
Freedom is harsh and tough, and sometimes the stimulation hurts us.
But beauty exists only when we accept that pain as pleasure.
So, where shall we go today? . .
I'm shivering

Ome River
Ome River is a beautiful place to stroll along with friends and family that is near the base of Mt. Mitake in Ome. We went here on summer and had a beer while dipping our feet in the water. I like the rock formation surrounding the river making it more mesmerizing. #wintergetaway

Yamanosato Village Campground
#TokyoAttractions
Yama no Furusato Village Campground is a great campground near the Okutama Lake area, managed by the Tokyo Ome Prefecture Office, well maintained, and the inventory and customer service provide ample information for campers. There are plenty of places for tents, water, fire pits, and restrooms that many people can use.
If you prefer to stay in a campsite during your trip, then this campsite is the best choice. The parking lot is a bit far but the staff will take the initiative to pick you up and drive you back to the office. This is one of the good things about their service.

Gozenyama
#Tokyo Attractions
The scenery of Mt. Gozen is beautiful. Starting from the Tochiyo Sightseeing Parking Lot, we continued on the paved road. Most of the first half was well maintained and easy.
The difficulty is relatively low and does not require much physical strength to complete. This is a hiking course full of Okutama style. The first place you will encounter is the "Gozenyama Trailhead", which has a slightly steep start. The Okutama Forest Experience course can be a bit unsatisfactory. The top is not open nor wide. You can see the mountains of Okutama.

Okutama Athletic Park
#Tokyo Attractions
Okutama Athletic Park is a beautiful park, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the wind was calm, so it was a very comfortable place to hear the sound of your own footsteps.
Sitting on a sunny bench, I accidentally looked towards Okutama Station. The view was nice, but there was icicles and frost under my feet. Maybe it's quite cold. I didn't feel particularly cold while walking. It's a bit difficult to reach here by going uphill or on foot. There is a parking lot, so it is recommended to drive there. There is a baseball field but it is very quiet when not in use.

Glacier International Trout Fishing
#Tokyo Attractions
The Hikawa International Trout Fishing Area is about a ten-minute walk from the station. You can quickly reach it while walking and feeling the negative ions. There are no dangerous places, so it is safe to bring your children.
Visit after arriving at the camp. The staff was very kind and taught us how to fish. I caught four fish in an hour, but it seems difficult to catch them except when they are stocked. Because of the cooking utensils, it tasted like it was steamed, but the meat was soft and delicious. Fun memories can be made here.

Bai Miaoqiao
#Tokyo Attractions
Bai Miao Bridge is an exciting bridge with a limestone outcrop outside the bridge. One can see it from the other side, but Mount Buko in Chichibu is much better so it's not worth making a special trip there. From this bridge, you can see an Okutama industrial drag chain. To get a bird's eye view of it all, it seems necessary to cross the bridge and climb up using ropes and chains.
There is no parking lot nearby, but the Nishi-Tokyo bus to the limestone caves runs along this narrow road, with bus stops both above and below, so if you have a motorcycle, you can temporarily park your bike. The buses hardly come but the view is nice.

Water and Green Friendship Hall
The Water and Green Friendship Hall offers beautiful scenery and is located near the Odawara Lake bus stop. The museum provides detailed information about the history and environment of Odawara Lake. Admission is free and it's worth a visit. There are elevators to access the upper and lower floors, and a circular ramp that allows you to walk up. The first floor has restrooms and high-quality drinking fountains.
The restaurant can get crowded, and you need to sign up and wait in line. On weekends, the wait is about half an hour, which is acceptable. Even if you temporarily leave to use the restroom and miss your call, the staff will still let you in. You order food using a self-service machine, pay in cash, and the process is clear and straightforward. The food is served quickly, making it a great spot to visit.

Maishan Floating Bridge
#Tokyo Attractions
The Maishan Floating Bridge is very beautiful. Coming from the Xiaohe Nei Dam, you will pass through several caves, and after reaching the red Fenggu Bridge, you will pass the last cave. The entrance to the floating bridge is on the left side of the cave exit.
Walking down the long stairs, the scenery of mountains and waters is very beautiful. Stepping onto the floating bridge feels bumpier than expected, which may scare some people. However, it is actually very solid and a little shaky, but not as scary as the suspension bridge.
The promenade that crosses the left bank to the right bank and leads counterclockwise to the dam in the creek is currently under construction. If you go over it from the floating bridge, the road will be suddenly closed after five kilometers without any warning, so be careful.

Three-headed bridge
#Tokyo Attractions
The scenery around Sanzubashi is very beautiful. It is a bridge across the Kosuge River at the entrance of the tourist road at the deepest part of Lake Okutama. The bridge is 132 meters long, 131 meters long and 9.5 meters wide. The first Nelson Rose in Japan. It has a fresh and modern form in the bridge across Lake Okutama.
From the bridge you can see a wide view of Lake Okutama, and looking up from under the arch you can enjoy the majestic appearance of Lake Okutama. The railings are decorated with relief carvings. There are three types: deer, mountain girl, and azalea. There are stairs leading down to the lake from the south end of the nearby Miyama Bridge, and from there you can go down to the starting point of the Kosuge River and see the Mito Bridge in the distance. One minute walk from the parking lot on the south side of Miyama Bridge.

Hihara Forest Museum
#Tokyo Attractions
The admission fee to the Nihara Forest Museum is 200 yen, and it is a museum about giant trees. Not only the big trees in Okutama, but also big tree exhibitions all over the country. The exhibition also features paintings by the artist depicting giant trees. I thought it was an unremarkable museum, but after visiting it, I became more interested in these giant trees.
Okutama Town has established the Forest Hall to promote the rich greenery and public benefits of the forest. The museum is equipped with computers that can be used to search for information on large trees from all over the country. There is also a display of Tokyo's large trees, stories about large trees, paintings and photos of large trees, and display boards where you can search for large trees. From the observatory, you can see wild antelopes and Japanese deer, as well as Inamura Rock, a symbol of Nihara, and enjoy the great nature of Tokyo.
