I enjoyed walking around the bridge and taking photos because the beautiful landscape blends seamlessly with the surrounding nature 🏞️. The occasional passing train adds to the charm and fame of the bridge 🚂. The Nine Arch Bridge is an ideal place to enjoy the scenery and capture beautiful moments.

During my trip to the Nine Arch Bridge in Sri Lanka, I was deeply impressed by the beauty of the country and especially this magnificent archaeological landmark. Upon arriving at the bridge, I was excited to see what a testament to the region's ancient history it was. Look at the massive arches and structures that reflect ancient traditions, I truly admired the splendor of the landscape around me, adorned with rich greenery and beautiful natural spaces. I was amazed and respected the beauty and geometric strength of the bridge, and enjoyed moments of tranquility and serenity, reflecting the beauty and history of nature surrounding the bridge. Visiting the Nine Arch Bridge was a magical and unique experience because it left a connection with Sri Lanka's cultural and natural heritage.

Nine Arch Bridge was built by the British in 1912, with its nine stunning arches. It is located between Ella & Demodara station. Trains pass the bridge about 6 times a day. The exact times change all the time in Sri Lanka but there should be one every hour. unfortunately when we arrived here, it was quite late in the evening and it was starting to rain heavily that we didnt get to wait for the train.

The 9 Arch bridge deep in the tropical jungles of Sri Lanka. I waited for aboiut an hour for this blue train to come over the bridge! Definitely worth the wait.

Traverse through highland tea plantations, delve into dense forests, and revel in the freedom of the wind. - I took the highland train from OHIYA to ELLA. It was a journey reminiscent of an adventure in the Emerald City. The train weaves through mountains at an altitude of around two thousand meters. The blue train stands out against the greenery of the mountains, forests, and waterfalls... And there are vast expanses of lush green tea plantations. One of the most important stops is the Nine Arch Bridge, which has a history of over 200 years. Because it is perpendicularly situated above the high mountain cliffs, it is also known as the Bridge in the Sky. Not only can trains pass over the Nine Arch Bridge, but people can also walk on it. You can sit on the bridge and wait for the train to arrive for a perfect photo opportunity. The train carriages also have a cultural charm, with locals using this train to travel to different parts of Sri Lanka. Especially since this train heads to the capital, Colombo, many locals take it. - The special feature of the highland train is hanging off the train. Since there is no air conditioning, all doors and windows are open. Many people stretch out of the doors to experience the thrill of the highland train. But be sure to hold on to the handrails tightly, as there is still some danger despite the slow speed of the train. - 🚄 Ticketing Strategy: Station: OHIYA to ELLA Price: 200 rupees per person (very cheap) There are no fixed seats, just like riding a bus, you can sit down when someone gets off. - 📷 Nine Arch Bridge Train Passing Times 💙 Blue Train Passing Time: 9:15am (will stop at Nine Arch Bridge) ♥️ Red Train Passing Time: 9:30am (will stop at Nine Arch Bridge) From the entrance of Nine Arch Bridge to the viewing spot, you need to hike 1.2 kilometers of mountainous trail. It requires climbing up and down the mountain, which is quite strenuous, but you can take a tuk-tuk back and forth for 1500 rupees.

The 91-m bridge was built around 100 years ago to connect two hills during the construction of Kandy-Badulla railway. It has become a popular photo spot in recent years and most tourists will not miss the chance of walking along the bridge. There are also many other viewpoints around the area. We chose to stop by Asanka Cafe which overlooks the bridge from a higher ground. It is a family run cafe which serves simple drinks and snacks. The best way to get there is to hire a tuk tuk as the walk can be quite steep. On the railway, there are people that are selling different type of soft drinks and fruits too. It is a busy attraction but a very picturesque one too

nine arches bridge is just splendid. it's in Ella and it's totally a must see. you start off from the parking lot and walk about 1.5km to their bridge. there you can take many Instagram shots and sit at the terrace cafes while you take in the view. absolutely magnificent

It dates back to the British colonial period, by the British and the Lankans. The common design is still very strong. Nine-hole bridge is called "the bridge of the sky" in the Sinhalese language. It is on the bridge. Below is the tea garden where the fog is covered like a jade carpet. You can see the brightly-printed tea. The hard work of the women makes people feel that they are not disturbed by the impetuous, noisy modern civilization, and even have the illusion of a time reversal.
