Route through Johor-Hatyai
At that time, we were leaving Hatyai but decided to take the Penang route. We flew from Johor Bahru to Penang Airport and then took a van or bus to Hatyai. On that day, we arranged for a Fortuner to pick us up at the New World food court, a food court with a wide variety of local Penang dishes. For example, luksa, which is a Penang Chinese-style dish, and Rojak, a snack made from various fruits mixed together with crispy fried dough sticks, topped with a special Malaysian sauce. I highly recommend friends to try it. Personally, I love it. Additionally, there are other foods like noodles, mee, and the famous southern chicken rice. It takes about half an hour from the airport to the food court. The drive from Penang to Hatyai takes about 4 hours. Along the way, you can see Penang's buildings, which resemble the old town area of Phuket. It's beautiful and very worth visiting.
