Dream Summer Destination: Santorini, Greece – A Timeless Escape into Aegean Beauty
This summer, my dream destination is the sun-kissed island of Santorini, Greece. Santorini’s breathtaking views, whitewashed houses with blue domes, and the sparkling Aegean Sea are the perfect backdrop for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here’s how I plan to spend my days in paradise:
Day 1: Arrival and Fira Exploration
I’ll start my trip by arriving in the vibrant town of Fira, soaking in the stunning caldera views. I’ll explore the local markets, tasting authentic Greek dishes like moussaka and souvlaki, and take in the sunset from a cliffside taverna.
Day 2: Beach Day in Perissa
Perissa’s black sand beach will be my retreat, where I’ll relax under the Mediterranean sun, swim in the crystal-clear waters, and try out exciting water sports like jet-skiing and windsurfing.
Day 3: Oia and Wine Tasting
A trip to Santorini wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Oia, where I’ll explore the charming village, visit art galleries, and capture the iconic blue domes. In the afternoon, I’ll head to a local vineyard for a wine-tasting experience, savoring Santorini’s unique volcanic wines while watching another unforgettable sunset.
Day 4: Ancient Akrotiri and Volcanic Adventure
History meets adventure as I visit the ancient ruins of Akrotiri, a Minoan Bronze Age settlement preserved in volcanic ash. Later, I’ll embark on a boat tour to explore Santorini’s volcanic islands and relax in the therapeutic hot springs of Nea Kameni.
Day 5: Local Culture and Farewell
Before leaving, I’ll delve deeper into Santorini’s culture by visiting a traditional village, learning about Greek traditions, and perhaps taking a cooking class to bring a piece of Greece back home with me.
Santorini promises a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion. Winning this Travel Fund would make this dream a reality, allowing me to explore one of the world’s most beautiful islands and create unforgettable memories.

Volcano island near to Thira 🇬🇷
#thingstodo
Volcano island is one of the iconic place near to Santorini. This place is full of lava and also still considered as a active volcano. The scenery on the island is awesome with the 360 degrees ocean view. Moreover, there’s some lava pieces like the red sands , they are really unique. It is easy to take the boat from the old port of Santorini to there. I really enjoyed this trip so far and hopefully one day I can go back to there again.

Santorini | Volcano Island Hiking Hot Springs
| Volcano Island Hiking Hot Springs. Santorini is located at the southernmost end of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. It is a ring of islands formed by a group of volcanoes, composed of three small islands. Two of the larger islands are inhabited, and the other is the uninhabited active volcano island of Kameni, which is also my destination for this trip.
🚢: From Fira, take a cable car or walk down 558 steps to the old pier to take a boat to the volcano island. There is no separate ferry, you can only go with a travel agency online or at the old pier. I participated in the shortest 3-hour itinerary: including volcano island hiking and volcano hot springs, departing at 11 o'clock and 14:30 every day. There is also a 9-hour itinerary, which is to go to an extra island and watch the sunset in Oia on the boat.
🌋: If you have enough time, I highly recommend everyone to experience this route. Along the way, you can not only feel the hot shock brought by the volcano, but also feel the thrill of jumping directly into the hot spring from the boat. There is red volcanic mud in the hot spring!
💰: The 3-hour itinerary is 20 euros per person, and the 9-hour itinerary is 35 euros per person.
🎫: For reservation methods, directly search for Santorini Nea Kameni your on Ctrip and many packages will appear. Tickets are sent by email, but they need to be exchanged at the pier store. So arrive at the pier in advance!

Santorini Kameni Volcanic Island
❤Recommended reason:
I spent a week on vacation in Santorini during the summer vacation. Since I have been to Ia Town and Fira Town, I signed up for a day trip after landing on the island.
To be honest, this day is my favorite on Santorini Island.
Perhaps I inherently prefer the desolate and lonely feeling of the volcanic island.
👍Most recommended:
The bus picked us up from the hotel, took the bus to the pier, took the boat to the pier of the volcanic island, and under the guidance of the tour guide, walked for about half an hour to reach the volcano. Then circled around the volcano a few times.
Then I took a boat to another place with hot springs. Many people on the boat jumped into the sea to swim. Then take a boat to another island, have lunch on the island. Finally, take a boat back, then take a bus to Ia, watch the sunset in Ia, and finally take a bus back to the hotel.
📝Note tips:
I went at the end of August, it was very sunny, pay attention to sun protection. There are water and snacks for sale on the boat, but you can bring some fruits, snacks and water. In addition, there are many thieves on the island, be sure to pay attention.
