A Fun Afternoon at the National Space Centre
Location: Exploration Drive, Leicester LE4 5NS, United Kingdom
I spent an afternoon at the National Space Centre, and it honestly felt more like an adventure than a museum visit. The tall Rocket Tower was the first thing I saw—it holds real rockets and gives a great view inside the building.
Inside, there were interactive galleries where I could try things like a spacewalk simulation, explore the International Space Station setup, and even learn how astronauts live in zero gravity. The real highlight for me was the planetarium—a huge dome screen with a 360° show that made me feel like I was floating in space.
There were kids everywhere having a blast, but I saw plenty of adults enjoying it too. I grabbed a snack at the on-site café before heading out, and the gift shop was full of cool space-themed items.
If you’re in Leicester, this is a fun and unique stop—great for families, but also just as enjoyable if you’re visiting solo.
