A short drive from downtown Taipei is the Martyrs' Shrine. Chinese soldiers are enshrined here as a memorial to the Second Sino-Japanese War. Here, I was able to see the changing of the guards ceremony. The honor guards who change here are said to be an elite unit in the military, and they show very sharp movements. It's well worth seeing. At first, there was a beautiful trail from the gate to the shrine, and I wondered what it was, but it was the trail of the guards marching. It's a beautiful march that is so straight and beautiful.
