Who would have thought we could have an extra day for this? Our flight got cancelled due to Storm Paeng and so we had the chance to rebook our flight to 6pm of the next day and had an extra half day to visit the National Museum of Fine Arts. I have always wanted to visit it though many times I have been to Manila, I never got a chance. They are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. No entrance fee but if you go there with a group, a representative of the group has to show their ID and vaccination Card. The museum has 4 levels and we only got the chance to explore up to the second level.

If you love history and sketches of the first filipino artists, this is the place. There are also faces of the first presidents and the history of the ruins of various places here in manila. There are wood carvings, oil canvas, unfinished works, marble arts and there are featured works or sculpture like the very first foxes here in the Philippines. This is a 4-storey building and yet we did not covered all the floors and rooms so you can explore a lot more than these features photos. From here you can go to Intramuros, Fort Santiago and Luneta where you can enjoy walking and take pictures or unwind some time.

It was originally intended to be a library, but due to lack of budget during construction, it was turned into a parliament building. This building was once occupied by the Japanese as a stronghold and was attacked by the Americans. It was later renovated into an art museum. It is a collection of art galleries and exhibitions in the hallways, with works by Filipinos and national artists, painters, sculptors, and printers. There is no admission fee, and you can also see the view of Intramuros.

Opening hours: 9:00-18:00 Atmosphere/Facilities: It seems like you can go around the whole place in about 30 minutes. There are benches so you can sit. Location: Manila Price per person: Free Reasons why it's recommended: Free entry I walked there for about 15 minutes after seeing the San Agustin Church, a World Heritage Site! There are a lot of touts on the way there, so it's best to ignore them as much as possible! Grub is cheap in the Philippines, so I recommend using it to get around! The museum is free. I had to wait in line for quite a while. Just show your passport after entering and you're good to go!

First of all, I come from a fine arts background and specialize in oil painting, so I absolutely give this museum a super invincible five-star review. I could wander around inside for a whole day, and I've even been there three times already. It's free of charge, but you do need to register with a passport photo. Many of the paintings inside are Cubist, and it feels like they are heavily influenced by Picasso. The sculptures are truly amazing, super aesthetic! The central exhibition hall on the third floor is also super suitable for taking photos, and it feels very luxurious and grand. The spiral staircase is also fantastic. The galleries here each have their own color, which is very photogenic, super Instagram-worthy! I won't post any more of my photos here, just a few . Moreover, right behind the National Museum is the National Museum of Humanity, which you can plan to visit in one day, touring both museums is great, but if you're not up for it physically, I suggest splitting the visits.

#2024wish Wonderful museum. The National museum definitely presents the best exhibits out of the other museums in the area. I particularly enjoyed the Guillermo Tolentino exhibit. His sculpturing is unmatched in Filipino art. The building itself feels a bit run-down on the interior side, but the quality of the exhibits makes up for that. The free entry also makes this a must-visit in Manila. i wish to travel more in 2024
