No wonder it's the top travel destination in Japan during autumn! I regret not doing enough research before coming here. Upon arrival, I realized Hakone has more than just autumn leaves 🍁 and hot springs ♨️. One day is definitely not enough 😭. I had to give up Izu... but I'm glad I didn't miss Hakone 😭. Recommended Spots in Hakone ⬇️ ✅ Narukawa Art Museum This is the same museum where you can go on a date with the heroine in the Japanese dating simulation game 'Tokimeki Memorial'! The scene is exactly the same! It's a childhood dream come true 😭. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows, sitting by the window drinking coffee and reading a book, framing the beautiful scenery of Mount Fuji, pirate ships, water torii gates, Lake Ashi, and the Hakone mountains, changing with the seasons! This moment is worth cherishing for a lifetime 😭. ✅ Hakone Yuryo I didn't expect to soak in a world-class hot spring ♨️ in Hakone for less than 100 RMB. The water quality is excellent. We went at night, and it was gender-separated and fully nude. It was even more romantic with the autumn leaves around. There's also a rest area, reading area, and dining area, fully experiencing Japanese aesthetics and meticulousness. The experience was fantastic. ✅ Pirate Ship A few hundred meters walk from Narukawa Art Museum, you can board a pirate ship that sails between several docks 🗺️, enjoying the lake's beautiful scenery. I finally fulfilled my dream of riding a pirate ship. ✅ Autumn Leaves Viewing In the museum's courtyard, by the lake, there are breathtaking autumn leaves 🍁 everywhere. This is what I imagine autumn should look like 😭. ✅ Around Hakone-Yumoto Station, there are many cute little shops, food, souvenirs, and trinkets. I could spend a whole day just wandering around. ✅ Taking the Hakone Tozan Bus from Hakone-Yumoto to Hakone-machi Port, there are about a dozen or twenty stops. It's quiet with few people, recommended❤️ It's a 5-minute walk from the pirate ship disembarkation point. The museum is on the hill, but the uphill road is connected by an escalator, so it's not tiring for the elderly and children. 🚌The bus stop is just across the street, the signs are very clear, you can find buses to Hakone Yumoto/Gora/Odawara, and there are English-speaking staff to answer questions (some buses only have 1-2 per hour, it is recommended to calculate the time to reduce waiting time) 🎫4 adults and 1 child JPY 5600. This time I came to Hakone and checked in two super beautiful niche treasure art museums, and unlocked the hidden camera position of Hakone Shrine in one of the art museums! 📷Narukawa Art Museum The Narukawa Art Museum is located on a scenic high platform overlooking Lake Ashi and the red torii gate of Hakone Shrine. It houses the modern Japanese painting collection collected by businessman Narukawa Minoru in the mid-Showa period. The museum was personally designed by Mr. Imari Ryu, the designer of the new Japan Sumo Hall, and won the Tokyo Architecture Award. In front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Narukawa Art Museum, I saw one of Hakone's most famous lakes and mountains, and unlocked the hidden camera position of the red torii gate of Hakone Shrine. The afternoon light of the Narukawa Art Museum is extremely beautiful, and the view of Lake Ashi from here is simply too dreamy! 🚌Transportation Tips: Take the Hakone Pirate Ship to Moto-Hakone Port and get off. This museum is the only one museum to display Japanese collections thanks to Mr. Narukawa. NHK broadcast TV camera is set inside this building, scenery from a big window is so beautiful. Narukawa Museum is beautifully set at the south end of Lake Ashi, with a view of Mt. Fuji on clear days (not always possible), has a stunning collection of Japanese paintings by 20th Century artists. Beautiful artwork on display - very restful - subjects focus largely on nature. In 2024, I want to go to Hakone again. #2024wish

Two days and two nights in Hakone, saw the most perfect Mount Fuji |||The next day Goro departed, walking clockwise, Hakone Shrine-Narikawa Art Museum-Pirate Ship-Cable Car. My favorite place on this trip to Japan It's worth staying for two days to travel slowly Hakone somehow feels like Switzerland, especially Lake Ashi. Maybe all beautiful places are similar. There are many museums/art galleries in Hakone, but if I had to choose only one, it would be the Narikawa Art Museum! The viewing platform on the first floor of the art museum is like a perfect picture frame, framing the most beautiful scenery of Hakone. The Narukawa Art Museum is indeed a place for viewing paintings, as it houses approximately 4,000 masterpieces representing modern Japanese paintings. The Narukawa Art Museum does not have a permanent exhibition, but mainly changes its exhibitions three times a year and holds various planned exhibitions from time to time.
