Located on the shore of Lake Ashino in Hakone, the Narikawa Museum of Art opened in April 1988. The collections in the museum are mainly modern Japanese paintings, with more than 4,000 pieces, which are still increasing. Among them, there are more than 150 representative works of the painter Yamamoto Yasuto, who has won the Medal of Culture, as the core, and more than 40 works (including sketches) of Hirayama Ikuo are collected at the same time. Hori Fumiko, Oka Nobutaka, Makino, Sekiguchi Yukai, Yoshida Yoshihiko, Mauri Takehiko, Hiraiwa Hirohiko, Okazaki Tadao, Kobayashi Masaru, Maemoto Toshihiko, Ushio Takeshi, Yanagisawa Masato and others have the largest collection of works in Japan . In addition, Morita Rieko, Ishimoto Masaaki, Nakano Yoshiyuki, Hiramatsu Reiji, Kimura Keigo, Naito Goro, Yatani Nagaji, Yoshida Ta, and others have one of the largest collections of works in Japan. About 100 pieces are displayed in the permanent exhibition, and the collections are displayed in rotation according to the seasons. Between viewing the works, you can walk outside through the glass door in the front of the museum, stroll through the garden, and enjoy the beautiful view of Hakone.
