The Nanxi River is very large, with many scenic spots, about over 800 in total. There are many ancient villages, and it would take about 2-3 days to visit them all. If you have ample time, you can stay at Nanxi River to fully immerse yourself in the slow life. The village is situated on the mountain, surrounded by mountains on three sides. The houses are made of wood and built along the hillside. Every household has bamboo shoots drying at their door. A small stream runs through the village, making it a great spot for photography. Near the parking lot, there is a small alley you can walk into for free, but it's not easy to find. We only discovered it when we were leaving. Cangpo Village was established in the second year of the Xiande era of the Later Zhou Dynasty during the Five Dynasties (955 AD) and has been a settlement for the Li family. The current Cangpo Village was rebuilt in the fifth year of Chunxi during the Southern Song Dynasty (1189 AD) by inviting the national teacher Li Shirri to arrange it according to the Feng Shui theory of the Five Elements and the layout of the 'Four Treasures of the Study.' It has a history of 840 years now. Inside, there are some ancient buildings, such as Renji Temple (Kunqu Opera House), Li Family Ancestral Hall, Xi Learning Temple, Huifeng Pavilion, Official Residence, and Pen Street. There is a path next to the toilet at the entrance parking lot that allows direct access for free. To the left of the entrance, there is a stone bridge that leads to the village, and to the right, there is an ancient street from the Qing Dynasty with a 300-meter-long river corridor hung with big red lanterns. On one side, there are cafes and restaurants, and on the other, across the river, you can see ancient bridges and trees. You can order a cup of coffee and sit on the corridor to enjoy the view. This place is even more famous for its night scene when the red lanterns are lit, creating a beautiful atmosphere.

Nanxi River, a national scenic area known for its mountain and countryside scenery, is only 50 kilometers away from the highly developed city of Wenzhou, yet it presents a completely different face, like a hermit hidden in the city. A 3-day tour in winter, although it coincided with continuous overcast weather, making the photos less than ideal, the experience was not diminished, especially when compared to Beijing, the difference in air quality is huge. The tour is centered around Yantou Town, where I stayed for several days, and you can either drive yourself or hire a car in the town. The 3-day itinerary includes, in addition to Yantou, 7 other ancient villages and 4 mountains, none of which are very strenuous to climb, with each mountain taking no more than 2 hours to ascend and descend Twelve Peaks A group of peaks rise up like pillars, crowded and staggered, creating a beautiful disorder; Cliff Bottom Storehouse An eighty-meter cliff has a plank road built upon it, as well as a glass platform, which looks dangerous, but is actually not difficult to walk the entire way; Daitou Village This ancient village ranks first in my Nanxi River itinerary, sitting under the big camphor tree at the entrance of the village, it feels like being in another world. Hidden in the secret realm of mountains and rivers, the Nanxi River Gorge in Wenzhou, a lesser-known spot in southern Zhejiang, is home to the solitary peak and giant rock that rises abruptly from the ground. First met Nanxi River in the poems of thousands of years ago.
