#timetotravel This is Nanwu Temple one of the temples that you could visit in Kangding. It was originally built in the 11th century during the Song Dynasty. It is located at the foot of a mountain and is a stone structured courtyard. The architecture and design is very detailed which we really enjoyed observing. Inside the temple are monks, when we were there, they are some sort of praying so make sure to be silent and respect the temple and the monks. We couldn't even use our cameras as we weren't entirely sure if it was ok to take photos. Very chill and relaxed temple as you would expect. There are not a lpt of tourists too. Itinerary It is recommended to spend half a day visiting these two temples. Visit Nanwu Temple first, then Jingang Temple. This temple has a long history, and its architectural style blends Tibetan and Han characteristics. Between the eaves and brackets are exquisite colorful paintings, shining brightly in the sunlight. The temple is built against the mountain, with scattered buildings, surrounded by green trees, creating a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. Strolling through the temple, you can see lamas chanting scriptures, practicing, or busy with temple affairs. If you're lucky, you can also listen to their chanting, the low and melodious voices, like Sanskrit sounds traveling through time, washing away the dust of the soul. The Mahavira Hall is solemn and majestic, with the golden Buddha statue inside shining brightly, its compassionate gaze seemingly watching over all things in the world. Here, you can pray devoutly and feel the power of faith. Under the sunlight, the golden roof reflects a dazzling light, visible from several kilometers away. Entering the temple, the interior decoration is exquisite, with flickering butter lamps and the lingering fragrance of incense. Here, you can communicate with lamas and learn about the culture and practice of Tibetan Buddhism. Ascending to the higher levels of the temple, you can overlook part of Kangding City, with rolling mountains in the distance, complementing the temple and forming a beautiful picture. Important Notes 1. Respect religious beliefs and local customs. Keep quiet and avoid loud noises when entering the temple. 2. Turn off the flash when taking photos, and do not take pictures of lamas or religious ceremonies at will. 3. The temperature difference between day and night in Kangding is large, so it is recommended to bring warm clothes even in summer. Nanwu Temple is located to the south of Kangding City, with a golden roof shining in the lush woods. Nanwu Temple was originally "Namusi" on Paoma Mountain, meaning "Fairy Temple". It is said that "Namusi" was established during the Northern Song Dynasty and was originally a white temple in Tibetan Buddhism. Nanwu Temple is a famous Gelug (Yellow Sect) temple, and together with the neighboring Vajra Temple, it is known as the "Twin Temples in the Clouds", one of the ten ancient scenic spots in Kangding.

Compared with the Jingang Temple, Nanwu Temple is a splendid Jinding. The two temples are very close, and you can walk to the gate. You can enter the gate and have a high-rise square. It is a large stone square courtyard. The main hall is the third floor and the other side is the partial hall. A place where the religious atmosphere is pure and strong, there are no tickets, there are not many tourists, it is my favorite. The temple is very quiet, and there is a scent of incense in the hall. A golden plaque hung above the gate, inscribed by the former Buddhist president, Mr. Zhao Puchu. Nanwu (nm) Temple, located in Nancun Village, Kangding, formerly known as Nam Temple on the Happy Valley, meaning Fairy Temple. It is said that the Namu Temple was established during the Northern Song Dynasty, and was destroyed in the war in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
