🚄 Morning train at 7:50, arrived at 10:50 🍴 Took a taxi straight to the time-honored Haitang Chun restaurant for breakfast. Ordered stewed shredded bean curd, three-filling buns, fish soup wontons, and "jumping noodles." The fish soup was delicious, but there was too much ginger in the meat filling which I didn't quite like. The three-filling buns had plenty of stuffing, but the skin was a bit tough. Started power walking in the afternoon. Old Street - Peach Garden - Plum Garden - Diaohe Ancient Street - Nanshan Lusi Temple - Clock Tower Lane - Shuidong Street Except for Old Street and Shuidong Street which were somewhat crowded, the rest were just small parks or artificial districts with nothing interesting. 📝 This city looks rather run-down, with many shops closed. Walking around felt a bit desolate. The attractions are very close to each other, so one afternoon is enough to see everything. 💰 Today's total cost: 300 yuan, which is low value for money for a day trip. But the meaning of travel is being on the road. Unknown places always bring a sense of freshness 💗

During my trip to Taizhou, I stayed at the "Hua Zhu She · Taizhou Old Street Fengcheng River Hotel," and I was absolutely blown away! The equipment and facilities here are on par with ultra-luxury hotels. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I was enveloped by the rich aroma of tea and coffee, instantly feeling relaxed and comfortable. The room featured a super comfy DeRUCCI mattress, which sent me straight to dreamland! With 24-hour hot water and underfloor heating throughout, I easily enjoyed ultimate warmth. Plus, the high-speed Wi-Fi was top-notch – it's hard not to love! Speaking of food, the hotel's breakfast was a delightful surprise! Not only did they offer a nutritious Chinese breakfast, but also authentic Taizhou morning tea, including Taizhou dried tofu shreds, fish soup wontons, and fish soup noodles. It was truly mouthwatering! The service was impeccable. Before check-in, I received a WeChat message from the hotel asking about my arrival time and thoughtfully sent me the location. Upon arrival, they upgraded my room, the air conditioning was already on, and fresh fruit awaited me on the table! In the evening, I even enjoyed a late-night snack of white fungus soup. It was too sweet! The hotel's location is also superb, close to the old street, Wanghai Tower, Nanshan Temple, and the Fengcheng River cruise terminal. Taizhou, this city located on the vast plains, attracts countless tourists with its unique topography and rich cultural heritage. However, what is even more astonishing is that in this flat land, there are actually four temples with the character 'mountain' in their names, as if they are miracles bestowed by nature, adding an extraordinary charm to the city. These four temples, though situated on the plains, are named after 'mountains', carrying profound meanings and sparking imagination. Among them, Nanshan Temple stands out as the best, not only bearing a deep historical and cultural heritage but also becoming a beautiful card of Taizhou with its unique architectural style, attracting countless visitors to explore its mysteries and charm.

In the Yuanjue Treasure Hall of Nanshan Temple in Taizhou, there are sixteen golden nanmu pillars, among which the four thickest ones are ten meters long and serve as the main support for the entire hall. Unlike the protected sites in Beijing and other places, visitors can actually touch these nanmu golden pillars in this hall to feel the weight of history. Different from the newly built halls before and after, the style of this hall is in the Yuan dynasty format, and it has been renovated multiple times during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The hall features a double-eaved hip roof and nanmu golden pillars, which in ancient China represented the highest level of architectural style. The caisson ceiling and corridor pillars inside the hall still retain the old colored painting decorations, and there are inscriptions from the Ming and Qing dynasties on the beams. After the renovation, the Nanshan Vinaya Monastery was restored, and the Nanshan Temple Pagoda was rebuilt, bringing back one of the once 'Ten Scenes of Hailing' known as 'Phoenix Pool Pen Shadow'. Beneath the pagoda, there is an underground palace housing Buddhist relics and handprints of 108 high monks, which can be visited for free. Although the nearby bustling areas of Sanshui Bay, Wanghai Tower, and Liuyuan are close by, the temple, with its ancient charm, is not crowded with tourists. The sound of wind chimes under the eaves is often heard, making it exceptionally peaceful and a very nice place for leisure.
